Whirlpool Calypso Model # GVW9959KQ2. I am trying to remove what I believe is the U-Jiont, so I can if something broke under the Stainless Steel Tub. The Tub seems very loose, but not sure why. Does anyone know how to remove the U-Joint/Leveler? It's a brown cone with a black rubber tube or gasket under it. Thanks
I firgured it out. after beating on it for a little bit with a hammer it just pulled off.
Now I just need to know which the Spanner nut turns when removing it?I firgured it out. after beating on it for a little bit with a hammer it just pulled off.

its probably LS not L5 code, which is a lid switch failure and this will result in a machine that will fill and possibly agitate, but wont spin out.replace lid safety switch located underneath top of units outer case
Sorry to say but they are right. The Calypso washer was a horible design given to whirlpool from maytag. I would suggest you go buy new machine. Buy someting that looks simple and easy to use. The more complicated the unit the more problems you will have down the road.
It is common for clothing to get wrapped around the u-joint, or leveler assembly. Use care when removing any garments not to damage any if these components under the nunater.
Let me know if you have any questions. I hope this helps you.
you have a bad u-joint assy, comes as a kit with the leveler..they used to put instructions on replacement in the kit.i assume they still do but i haven't done one in a while.good luck
