I recently purchased a SANYO VPC-TP1000 digital touchscreen camera. I'm not sure what happened, but it appears that all my pictures taken over the thanksgiving weekend are gone. Is there a way to recover these? I have tried everything but can not figure out how to recover. Thank you so much!! Suzanne (I couldn't find my product in your list below. So I chose Sanyo VPC-S7...it is actually a SANYO VPC-TP1000 digital touchscreen camera. I believe this is a new camera by SANYO. Thank you!

Contact Sanyo - if it is new it will be under warranty, which any interference could void.

SOURCE: my sanyo vpc-c5 digital camera won't turn on

If you already tried a new battery, I would suggest cleaning the battery terminals with alcohols and a q-tip first and check for loose terminals. It may be a power switch which unfortunately can't be changed or fixed by the average user. If you want to trouble shoot further and feel you can do it yourself, I will send you links on repair. Otherwise it should be brought in to a reputable repair shop.

Iris is not the cause of black screen.First confirm that shutter is opening as soon as you switch on camera. If shutter is not opened and you can't see live view on screen except black screen, then certainly there is problem with shutter assambly.

If shutter opens and you see black screen then there is problem with CCD.

My cd drive on my computer doesn't work can a download the cd-rom for this camera free on my computer?

You don't need to use Sanyo's software. The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com ).

Picasa probably does everything Sanyo's software does, and better.

SANYO VPC-TP1000 CAMERA

Hi please try to do this and let me know. Remove the battery and give a look inside the battery compartment with spot light. Make sure that place are clean and there no damaged mark. Specially look the Battery connector pins. That should in proper place , not bend, not even sulfur layer there. Use ear buds and drop of alcohol for cleaning. After checking if every thing Ok then some how the power supply not able to connect the circuit board. Its happens when the connectivity cable disconnected or damaged, circuit board short or the power transformer stop working. For all this internal fault part confirmation you need to visit electronic repair center.

but before visit for repairing make sure the battery which one you use that's is fully charged with working condition. Thank you

Do an internet search for picture retrieval software. You can do this yourself and once you have the software, you never have to worry again about lost pictures.

It looks like a pair of blinds are in front of my flasher

It is a problem with the image sensor and is common in point & shoot digital cameras, especially a less trusted brand as Sanyo. Your best action would be to have it repaired or purchase a new camera.
