I had a White Pearl with same problem. As I moved the hose/wand the brush motor would start stop. Find out where the circuit opens up by holding one part and moving the part that connects to it - 1) where the hose plugs into the cleaner, 2) the swivel connection at the cleaner, or 3) the swivel connection where the wand plugs in. There are brass bands around the hose with brass "fingers" to make electrical contact. Mine had a bunch of gunk, dust, corrosion on the band at the end of hose that plugs into the cleaner. Pulled it apart and now it works like a champ. A bit tricky to get the pieces apart (hidden plastic clips which you don't want to break), but it can be done.
Testimonial: "Thanks, it worked"
Its probaly between the nozzle and wand, grab nozzle and hold it still and slightly move wand to see if it shorts
