Usually this is a signal issue and it happens when recording indoors mostly, right? The signal dropps but only for a second or two so when you look at it its fine. you've probably notived it cutting in and out when "live" from time to time. Use your signal meter built in to the device and find the strongest signal location. If that doesnt work or its not the problem, update the software. If that doesnt work try running the recovery software but only as a last resort because you'll lose your recordings.
SIRIUS Device Recovery (SDR) is a software application that helps you recover your Stiletto (SL2, SL100 or SL10) in the event of a complete system failure.
The SIRIUS Device Recovery program retrieves the latest version of software for your Stiletto from the Sirius website.
NOTE: Performing device recovery WILL ERASE the entire contents on your Stiletto: all music, Sirius recordings, channel presets and any user preferences. The Stiletto will be reset to its original factory state. You can perform the revovery from the Sirius Studio software that came with your device or

After having XM and the Pioneer Inno for the past year I decided to change service and went with the Stiletto 100 and have had nothing but problems since, the latest is almost like you described. I can get the dog to appear and even the blue outline around the control buttons (back, home, options, and display) However, no response from any of the buttons. I can turn the unit off if I hold the power down for more than 5 seconds. Please somebody HELP! I would hate to have to go back to XM before even hearing all the Sirius channels. Thanks and good luck...
I have had my stiletto 100 for 6 mo. But it quit responding to the "home" button so I pulled the battery out and it reset to the home page where I could choose sattilite radio, favorites, ect. but now when I turn it on it is stuck in start with the dog and the stars all lit. I tried to load new software with "my sirus studio" but it said it could not after about 4 steps of 5
same problem keeps shuting down ,sirius were no help , had to cancel service.
Hold the display and options buttons down while turning it on. You
will get a message to plug it into your computer. This will reset the
device to its factory default but it will clear any data on the device,
you will lose all your songs and recordings.
same problem the unit seems to freeze up when car is restarted even
though you get a blue screen with user id info on it,unit just plays static
thruogh the speakers unit sucks.
The last time I used my Stiletto it worked fine, this morning it keeps shutting down, in my truck and on my boombox at work. With and without the battery
My unit will not power on no matter what I do.
my stiletto 100 tries to boot but keeps shutting down before it turns on. Since it never fully boots up, the stiletto is never recongnized by the Studio Program when attached to a computer with via a USB connection. Is there a reset sequence (like the simultaneously pressing the up¢er button on an ipod?).
