This sounds to be an Display Problem. Do you have the Same Models?
If yes, might be a case that, this is a problem with Most of the Handsets of the same Model. Contact Panasonic to check for any recall or Service Promise.If under Warranty, get it replaced.
To be really Honest, for Display Problems, other than Repair there is nothing that you could do. You could only try to unplug the Phone and again Plug in after few minutes, say 2 hours and check, if that could fix the problem. Also, Read the Manual and try to Restore the phone to Factory Settings.
If you have Different Models, there might be a maintenance problem. You might be Overcharging the Battery or might be some electrical problem in wiring.

Change display strip of your phone.
OR
take the battery out then with the battery out plug in the charger.

nothing happened, took battery out, placed in charger, put back battery, still no display>
