Keyboard and mouse not working and monitor going to sleep

HP Pavilion Slimline S3400f Desktop.
dont worry ALL PC end up like this,, all do.. sooner or later..
NO OS stated, XP"? never post without OS stated, or answer get 10x more harder, See? make it easy for the helper and get more help.....
no Monitor stated. (maker, CRT, LCD what?)
The monitor is not fibbing to you BTW, the PC did go dead or to sleep. seems its monitor monitor of some kind with DVI.

if the monitor works on other PCs then the monitor is not bad.
i Bet it works (old ones 2002, have a hidden deep internal sleep mode. and is not yours IM sure now) DVI IS THE ONLY CLUE THERE.
So PC is dead. this PC came with only VISTA new,
is it still VISTA?????????
HP has support on it still
here (carbon dated by me 2008, IIRC)
https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-pavilion-slimline-s3400-desktop-pc-series/3688715/model/3688723

this year,? get all those files and books there backed up
when HP support ends after 10 year rule, (be savvy?)

what keyboard USB or wireless keyboard mouse
use wired USB keyboards if wireless the battery is dead. easy no?

now in VISTA, go to Control panel, click power
turn off all sleep modes and all hibernate modes
the turn off screen savers, if turned on , disktop . RC right click
in display settings or personalize, turn off , need login to come out of sleep or screen saver.
try a real keyboard, that has USB cable yet? be first thing to do.
always keep a real keyboard, handy,,,
batteries fail. in all wireless devices like this (inside them)

luck you desktops have lies DIM fails. there are many.

one other way , and common is PC overheated.
all do that.
ever one not cleaned out every year,.

#1 all time cause of overheat and PC shuts down.

My hp pavilion slimline s3020n pc is on but cannot view on the screen it says on the monitor VGA: no input signal

Check the video cable connectors, remove the video connectors and reconnect them again.
Check the monitor input settings make sure the input is set to VGA and not to DVI.
Try a different monitor.

The symptoms you described is common in fault mobo or VGA card. But VGA doesn,t turn bad so easy.I suggest to change your mobo first.

If you need more help post back!

I have an HP w1907v monitor. It is connected to my PC via a blue 15 pin VGA cable. It has now started going into sleep mode when connected to my PC. The monitor came with the PC and is 3 years old. I have...

If the monitor works when connected to another pc then it's good and the defect is in your present pc - its video card is defective and it will have to be replaced.

I've got a HP w1907v monitor and latly it has been going into sleep mode without warning while i'm using it. All my power saver settings are set to off.

If this monitor is going into sleep mode the normally blue power led will change to yellow. This indicates loss of video signal or possible out of range resolution. If the picture goes dark and the power lite stays blue, you have a backlight malfunction. It can be an inverter power fault but this model mostly has worn out backlights causing a shutdown condition.

HP Pavillion won't bring monitor back from sleep mode

hi...if u can read " no input signal" from ur screen, this means that ur monitor is ok..
Look if u have power buttons on ur keyboard.. try to wake it from there.. some pc may have shortcut keys to bring back the pc... look @ ur pc docs on the internet for more info...
However if it's a hardware issue, it may be that ur RAM memory needs to be cleaned

I have a HP Pavillion Slimline S3500t; a few days ago the computer turned ff completely. Every time I have tried to reset it, or start it, the monitor give me an error message ''monitor going to sleep''...

When you boot the system, do you get any life at all in the monitor? Splash screen, perhaps?

You could try to boot it to safemode (tapping the F8 key on boot) to see if you get any image. Other than that, it looks as though your video bit the dirt. A replacement video card may be in order.

Hope this helps - do let us know how you make out.

Cheers,

HP Slimline Pavillion s3123w monitor going to sleep.

Sounds like the motherboard might be bad but go thru these steps.

Unseat and reseat the memory one stick at a time in each slot one at at time and turn on the computer after each stick reinsertion.

If that doesn't get the video to come back up then go ahead and unseat and reseat the CPU. Then try turning on the computer.

If that doesn't do it, make sure there is no power going to the hard drive or the dvd drive. Then try turning on the computer.

If you do all of these steps and you still have no video, then the motherboard is bad and would need to be replaced.

No analog signal

Sounds like the graphics card is gone belly up. Try the monitor with another pc or just replace the graphics card.
Hope this helps
