Question what does -AC mean on my thermostat screen it keeps popping up and can't get unit to come on leo

  • Anonymous Dec 17, 2008

What does the -AC code mean? The air conditioning is off.

  • mensadoc Jan 07, 2009

My Honeywell Chronotherm III was working fine until the code "-AC" abruptly appeared where the temperature display is supposed to be - makes no difference if the control is in "Heat", "Cool", or "Fan" position, nothing comes on.  I can't find anything about this in the manual, and changing the batteries had no effect.  Anyone got any ideas?

AC OFF code keeps coming on. Is this the thermostat or a more expensive problem

If you are seeing this AC code on your thermostat screen that usually means that the thermostat is losing power. If a furnace is overheating the limit switch will shut the burner off cutting power to the thermostat. Check your air filter and make sure all your supply and return registers are open.;

What does the alert code 80.01 mean on my trane comfort link ll thermostat

This alert popped up on a new system all of 4 months old. I do not have an answer to 80.01 error however with the error my system had completely shut down. I rebooted the thermostat (950 WiFi Com.) which did nothing. I then turned off power to the AC unit at my indoor breaker box for 1 minute and that did reset the AC and allowed the system to come back online.

AC has a relay, it sounds like it failed on ya. If the unit was on all the time, was it that hot where you were or do you mean switched from AC to fan on all day? From what you said, it sounds like the unit burned its relay out for overheating, meaning thermostat may have originally failed keeping unit on until relay popped. Careful of fire hazard.

No hot air

There could be a couple of problems going on. Your fuse on the heater up in the attic is popped.
Your glow ignition is broken.
Your spark ignitor is bad (if that is what you have)
GAs valve is bad.
Or the vent sensor is bad, meaning that the exhaust fumes are not going anywhere.
Now when you turn on the heater your condensiing unit outside should never turn on unless you are calling for AC. Now if the ac is not coming on there can be more problems.
Disconnect fuse is popped.
Wiring is wrong going to the heating board.
No wires for AC going to the thermostat

Problem with my Airtron Thermostat

Two things, first go up to the heater and check the fuse inside the heater, looks like a car fuse. If that is not popped, then go outside to your AC unit and pull out the emergency disconnect. Check those fuses with a multimeter. IF you do not get anything replace those fuses, It has nothing at all to do with your thermostat.
