One of the antennas is broken, need to replace it, but don't know what type of antenna it is, can you help?

If you don't see one, there is a mount on the passenger side front fender for an external antenna. These can be replaced or repaired by unscrewing the old/broken antenna at the base and attaching a new one. If the antenna is still in the mount and you are not receiving any stations the wire connecting the antenna to your radio could be broken or disconnected. GM uses what is commonly known as a "Motorola" plug for the antenna so if you need to replace the cable be sure to specify that type of plug/wire design.

Is the antenna digital? If not its analog. Most stations are going to digital HD and dropping analog. The other 7 are still broadcasting analog. Ask station if they are still broadcasting analog if antenna is digital. If no, do a rescan of stations in menu of tv. Let me know.

The original radio is a BOSE system and it has a buit in amp. So if you replaced the deck you need to replace the speakers all so. Don't cut the wires to hook-up the deck buy an addapter KIT. It's not just the stereo that runs though that harness the factory alarm does all so and that will cause you problems. Anyway back to the stereo you need to add an amplifier and problem sovled.

If it's interference from the high tension wires,you probably need new spark plug wires with good resistor type plugs.
Now,also a bad antenna or a poor match of frequency to the antenna from the rec eiver can cause weak reception.Anyone who knows electronics can match the antenna to the receiver. don-ohio

There can be no repair for a broken antennae as it still reduces the sensitivity. so the best thing is to replace with the original piece. However if not available use a universal type of the antennae and connect to the terminal. There are many types available and you can choose and fix one accordingly. hope you try. Good day

Replacement is possible, the back of the radio needs to come off and there is a screw at the bottom of the antenna. Remove this and the old one will slide out and simple to install new one. Call Eton for replacement, can be foung with a google search....

if the telescopic antenna is broken you cant solder it, but you can buy a replacement antenna,some scanners have an antenna that just screws into the circuit board through a hole in the top of the case,or you can get a telescope antenna that will attach to antenna jacks on the back of the set if it has those, which im sure that model does. Antenna jacks came come in several types , one is called a BNC which just pushes in and turn about half a turn to lock in place,also some scanners have the type of jack like the back of a car radio, with those you just push them in and you can find telescopic antennas with the auto type plug at a 90 degree angle that will work fine.If you need more help let me know

Oh, I get it now. That extra Sony one should work fine. Does this mean you got it working or are you still looking for a replacement? You can most likely find these on ebay by themselves or as part of a laptop wireless assembly.
