MY philips tv model number 55PL9773/17 WAS TURNING OFF THE SCREEN AND LEAVING THE AUDIO ON FOR ONE MINUTE. THEN THE YELLOW LIGHT STAYED ON. THEN THE LIGHT TURNED OFF. thEN I TURNED ON WITH THE REMOTE AND THE YELLOW LIGHT TURNED ON AND A FEW SECONDS LATER CHANGED TO THE GREEN LIGHT AND THE TV TURNED ON. AFTER A FEW MINUTES, BETWEEN 10 AND 30 IT DID THE SAME THING. NOW IT IS OFF WITH A BLINKING RED LIGHT PERMANENTLY ON. TO TURN IT OFF I HAVE TO UNPLUG IT FROM THE WALL. I REPLACE THE LAMP A FEW WEEKS AGO AND IT IS FINE.

The lamps keeps on blowing only had it 3 years from new ,the last lamp that blew the red light flashes 3 times and on the other lamp flashes once. thanks brian

This is because you have a bad lamp balast you need to change the balast as that is proving incorrect current to the lamp due toa faulty sensor on the balast.

I have this same problem. I replaced the lamp but the problem still exists. I had a repair place come out. They told me it was a bad new lamp. I tried another lamp but had the same problem. Now they told me it is the lamp driver/balast. I am not sure if I will have them repair it for $350+-. When they did the diagnosis, they didn't even bother to turn on the tv.

TV lamp, sound.... don't come on...

The balast has a plug going directly to the lamp. There is also a thermal fuse coming off of the balast that lies above the lamp housing. Check for continuity. If open, replace.
