Document scans in reverse

The document is scanning in reverse -- not upside down or sideways, but literally backwards. One would need to hold the scanned document to a mirror to read it. Help!

That means you are getting a 'mirror' output. What format is the output, is it PDF? Then you must have accidentally chosen the mirror switch on. Only after scanning, it is being changed, pls check your settings.

How do hummingbirds fly backwards

A hummingbird can rotate each of its wings in a circle, allowing them to be the only bird which can fly forwards, backwards, up, down, sideways or sit in sheer space. To hover, hummingbirds move their wings forward and backward in a repeated figure eight, much like the arms of a swimmer treading water.

Scanning is backwards

I just got my scanner yesterday and had the same problem with my FIRST jpg. I looked for a solution and found your posting. I had scanned one page of the instruction booklet from the center fold outwards, not in the direction of the text, but rather sideways across it. That image was mirrored. I did another scan in the 'proper' direction, that is, from the top of the page to the bottom, both as a jpg and a PDF and they came out in a normal, readable form. Perhaps you need to do it a few times if you haven't already? Have you tried calibrating it?

Canon Lide 110 scans the image in upside down. Is there a setting to flip it automatically?

Unfortunately, that's normal for this particular model. If you read the manual, or in this case the Quickstart Guide, you'll note that the top left corner is meant to go into the arrow corner. I'm annoyed with it too. You can always do it in Post-processing by doing two "turn image 90 degrees". If there would be a setting, it would be in the scanning program as the driver for this scanner has no settings available; you would have to check to see if there's a 'reverse image' setting in the program, though I doubt it.

HP LaserJet M5025 MFP scans too light. Under default job options, image adjustment, darkness set to 3. The printer was sent to us upside down. We recently installed a brand new cartridge. Any suggestions?

If you print the configuration pages from the administration>information menu and they look dark then you know that the printing system is working fine. If they are light as well, then it is possible that being shipped upside down resulted in some dirt getting into the laser scanner. The image original settings are kind of wonky, in that it is backwards to normal assumptions. Darkness refers to the actual orignal you are scanning, so in most cases if you have lighter origjnals then you need to set darkness lower. As well, check whether the image type is set for photo or text. Setting for text will result in darker scans.

Document is scanning upside down

Easiest way to confront this problem is to rotate the material being scanned.
If you find the image of the item is being inverted then simply rotate the material being scanned by 180 degrees.
Additionally most scanning software will have a ROTATE function where you can rotate the image of the scanned material, usually in 90 degree increments which can be useful for editing purposes. You may find this function under Edit or Image in your scanning software.
Good luck! William

Images upside down and backwards

The ADF does nothing more than feed the document into a position to be scanned, and has nothing to do with print issues " stripes" on print? Can you provide more details.

Typically you will find an icon near on the tray of the ADF which will display the proper orientation for the item to be scanned. If this is correct, then your software is somehow manipulating the image to a different orientation. You may want to check the scanned image before printing, and check the printer settings. More likely a printer problem, than a scanner problem as I have understood the issue thus far.
