Most newer printer servers have a USB port, not a parallel port. If this is the case you can purchase a USB to parallel adapter.

Usb light link

HP LaserJet 1022 is a "host-based" printer so it must be connected to a PC. Load the driver on PC first and connect the USB cable when software tells you to do so.

Will not work on a Linksys print server.

LaserJet 1022N & LaserJet 1022NW have "special" HP print servers that can support HP host based printers.

Hp1100 printer keeps dragging in more than 1 sheet at a time

This is a big issue with these printers, as the pads get worn out it starts feeding multiple pages. HP used to offer free kits to repair this issue but they are no longer offering them but a lot of people are selling these kits now. The link below is one place you can get the kit or you can look on EBay for HP 1100 repair kit, they are usually a little cheaper.

I installed the laser hp 1100 on windows xp

Your problem is your PC parallel port is not configured or turned on. I would first look in the control panel, device manager and see if you have a parallel port listed and it does not have a yellow or red sign on it. If red or yellow then it is on but not configured. See below for that solution.
If it does not appear, reboot your PC and enter the bios. Find the setting for the parallel port and set to enable. If on you can change the setting on what type of parallel it is emulating. Normal is bi-directional IEEE.
Then save and restart to go into Windows. Test and print.
OK, if the parallel port in the DEVICE MANAGER shows a yellow or red sign on it, it has a bad driver, or bad settings. Un-install the port by right clicking and choose UN-INSTALL. Restart your PC and it should find the parallel port and install it again. Hopefully without the yellow or red sign on it. If the red or yellow sign is back. Look on the internet for the newest driver for your motherboard.

As a note: if you are using a print server or USB to parallel adapter these solutions won't help. You will have other issues to address.

Good Luck

Connect an Hp laserjet printer through a card : pcmcia/2 parallel ports

hi check out the following link...

http://h20180.www2.hp.com/apps/Lookup?h_lang=en&h_cc=us&cc=us&h_page=hpcom&lang=en&h_client=S-A-R163-1&h_pagetype=s-002&h_query=Hp+laserjet+printer+1100&submit.x=0&submit.y=0

I was not sure if yours is Hp laserjet printer 1100 or Hp laserjet printer 1100se or Hp laserjet printer 1100xi... or the all in one series....

Just check out the model... from the site the link takes you to choose the appropriate printer model... then select the Operating System you use and then download the driver...

I just wanted to be doubly sure that you gave the right printer model... Just in case...

Am sure this link would have taken you to the driver you were looking for...

If the problem still persists after downloading and installing the appropriate driver just leave a comment i will check it out...

Hp1100

Buy a new machine. There are too many parts that cost more than the value of the printer to convert it. Sorry for the bad news.
