Check the charging contacts make sure it is charging when in the cradle. If problem is remove the battery and let it stand for one minute than re-plug battery in unit place briefly in cradle, until display and or charge indicator lights up . Try making a call . IF ALL ELSE FAILS RUN TO TOP OF HIGH RISE BUILDING THROW HANDSET TOWARD EMPTY PARKING LOT !! BUY a BETTER QUALITY PHONE S#&@T HAPPENS
Go to Settings > SOUND > Silent mode (No sounds except media and alarms). If this is ticked (on), it means umts smartphone alarm will sound even if you make the phone silent. Regarding the loud sound even after reducing ringer volume, no idea for this.
I had the same problem but couldn't figure it out either ..... UNTIL, I changed the date and time (which was very old, actually Sept/2007) to the current date, year, time, am/pm, etc.
After I changed the date, time, year, etc. my phone went back to its normal default of 3 or 4 rings & then the answering message plays.
If battery is charged and phone is working simply do this: Press the power button for a few seconds, which is the same as the "hang up" button with red ink on it). Voila! It took me serveral days and a number of dealers telling me I had to pend $300 for a new phone before I uncovered this fix.
Just a suggestion (without knowing what troubleshooting steps from your manual you may have taken): Remove the batteries from the back of the handset and then put them back in after a few moments. My Panasonic KX-TGA8231B (DECT6.0) phones were acting up just like your Uniden is. All functions returned after this power interrupt "reset" with the batteries was done. Hope that helps. Good luck. - - -Gerry
Simliar problem resolved for me when I took the batteries out, waited a couple of minutes and put them back. Also phones works best with certain batteries and not others.
press menu, scroll down to ringer settings, hit select, scroll to ringer volume and hit select then press up the round button in the middle until you hear it make a "ring" sound. adjust your preferred volume and hit save.
thanks for the tip but i checked that already and still nothing
