Wap on nokia n95

Hi,can you help me? To go on my pay as you go wap internet,I usually have to press and hold down the '0' button for 3 secs. Now when I do this it just returns back to the same screen I was on.I have had the settings sent out again from vodafone but still no joy.I then went into the 'settings wizard',now on that menu there should be the word 'operator',but where as there used to be now there isn't.How can I restore this option as I think this not being there is stopping me from usung the wap internet.Be very much appreciated if you can help me.Rob.

Try pressing your menu button for 2 seconds this will open a window with all the applications that are open. Select them one at a time and press C to close them.
Try to open the Web via the menu rather than the short cut.
Try a restart, if it still doen't work delete the Wap/Internet settings ask Vodafone to send you new ones, make sure the settings are for the N95, And that you are using a Vodafone SIM card.

In order to use the Mobile Internet and services such as picture messaging you are going to need to configure the phone you can do this a number of ways, I have included a link to the auto configuration on Samsungs website where the Internet and MMS can be setup quickly and easily. I have also included the manual configuration below if you have any issues.

Setting up WAP
1. Press menu
2. Scroll to and select Settings
3. Scroll to and select Browser settings
4. Scroll to and select Profile Settings
5. Scroll to and select a free profile (e.g. Profile 3)
6. In profile name enter Vodafone Wap
7. In home URL enter the URL of the site you want as your homepage i.e.
http://live.vodafone.com
8. Make sure bearer is set as GPRS only
9. Set proxy to enable
10. Select GPRS settings

13. In APN enter
for Pay monthly customers: wap.vodafone.co.uk
for Pay as you talk customers: pp.Vodafone.co.uk
14. In login ID enter wap
15. In password enter wap
16. Press save
17. Press save again
18. Press Back
19. Scroll to and select Current Profile
20. Scroll down to your new Vodafone WAP profile and press select to activate it

Setting up MMS
1. Press menu
2. Scroll to and select Settings
3. Scroll to and select Message settings
4. Scroll to and select Multimedia Messages
5. Scroll to and select Multimedia Message Profile
6. Scroll to and select a free profile (e.g. Profile 3)
7. Press Options
8. Scroll to Edit
9. In profile name enter Vodafone MMS
10. In Server URL enter the URL of the site you want as your homepage i.e. http://
mms.vodafone.co.uk/servlets/mms
11. Set proxy to enable
12. Select GPRS settings
13. In proxy IP enter 212.183.137.012
14. In proxy port enter 8799

tip

Change WAP button to Write New SMS (even on T-Mobile!)

I seldomly use my WAP browser than SMS service that's why I want a faster acces on SMS. So instead of WAP, the SMS service will launch in a push of the WAP button. This procedure will help you modify the WAP button such that it opens the Write New SMS, even on T-Mobile (it's possible that other carriers can bypass the step A)!

A. First, configure a dummy WAP Profile:
1. Connectivity
2. WAP Options
3. WAP Profiles
4. Add profile
5. Name: "SMS" (whatever you like)
6. OK
7. Connect using: press Edit
8. New Account
9. GSM data
10. Name: "SMS" (again, whatever you like)
11. OK
12. Phone No: "+" (hold 0)
13. OK
14. SAVE
15. IP address: 192.192.192.0 (or whatever you like)
16. Press SAVE
17. Select the profile just created (SMS)

B. Now, configure the WAP button to write a new SMS:
1. Connectivity
2. WAP Options
3. WAP Profiles
4. "SMS" should be selected. Press Edit.
5. Advanced
6. Change Homepage
7. Name: "SMS"
8. Change Homepage Address: "mailto:" (without the "")
9. OK

That’s it! Now when you hit the top-right button (WAP), it will serve as a shortcut to create a new SMS message.

Note: for whatever reason, it creates a space in the message. So, get in the habit of hitting clear once to delete the space. This will also allow you to back out of a message without it being saved in your Unsent folder.

You need to get the Settings for Internet/Wap and MMS from your Network Service Provider. These settings are usually sent as a text msg. When you receive the msg. choose save or install on your phone. Or get the settings directly from their website. The MMS service doesn’t always work between networks.

To activate the front camera, select Options > Use
secondary camera
.

Factory settings
To reset some of the settings to their original values, select
Factory settings. To do this, you need the lock code. See
‘Phone and SIM card’. After resetting, the device
may take a longer time to power on. Documents and files
are unaffected.
If you reset the phone you'll have to reload the Wap/Internet/MMS settings.
