I also have a Mitsubishi LT 55164 with blinking green status light...does nothing else...reset does no good, also tried to reload software with no difference. Replaced power and inverter boards button stop the same. No obvious bad components on boards. Help! Anyone ever actually fix one of these?
Hit the front of the tv near the blinking light... give it a good rap or two. See if this helps. Helped mine. I had the same problem and the tech who came out to the house told me that it would work and it did! I could hardly believe it but it worked.
That model Mitsubishi is a 65 inch set not 55. And if the blinking you are talking about is the Power LED continually blinking green and otherwise dead it is because the digital module is not booting up. I have repaired many of them and this is done by replacing components in the digital module. Average repair cost is around $200 to $300 depending on where you live. That particular set is well worth the repair. If yours is a 55 inch instead the same still holds true.
Thats a common problem when the caps on the DM need replacement. They will function fine untill power is interupted then the set will not complete the boot sequence when power is reapplied and the led will just continue to blink. Hers a link to the kit that will usually repair that issue the kit comes with instructions. http://servicemanuals.vstore.ca/product_info.php/pName/v21v19-mitsubishi-dm-repair-kit/cName/repair-kits
Check the manual...blinking green light is normal. The unit is powering down cooling the lamp. It could have been a shut down command through pressing the off button by accident. If problem continues I would unplug tv and power on/off. Steady green. Next to the lights is a small indentation where you can reset the TV to the defaults. Take a paper clip ...power on..and put in the center. The green light will blink for a minute or two then go dark. THen power up.
TRY TO GET TO THE MENU, SETUP, AND EDIT YOUR SETUP SO EVERYTHING IS DEFAULT. I TOOK A 2001 50" HOME LAST NIGHT, MY SLEEP TIMER LIGHT ON THE FRONT, BLINKED FOR A FEW MIN. THEN, YOU CAN TURN IT ON AND RESET.....HOPE IT HELPS.......????
