I have a Denon AVR-1908, hooked up to newer Kliptsch 7.1 surround sound speakers. While playing a variety of movies (Blu-Ray and non Blu-Ray) my speakers periodically are making a popping/static noise. The noise is to the point in which I'm afraid to turn up the volume up to truly experience to "full effect". What could be causing the "popping" noise?
When I turn my kitchen light on and off it feeds back to my stereo speakers it's a denon receiver avr-1403 but I thought it was my subwoofer cord so I unplugged it the sound stopped iam just wounding if there's something wrong with my stereoWhen I turn my kitchen light on and off it feeds back to my stereo speakers it's a denon receiver avr-1403 but I thought it was my subwoofer cord so I unplugged it the sound stopped iam just wounding if there's something wrong with my stereo

Be sure in the menu setting that the audio analog/digital setting is correct for the blu ray setting. All try the factory reset as stated in owners manual
I'm not familiar with your unit. However, this is normal, since the "sub" is encoded separately in movies. I have a separate sub for my front speakers. Or if you know what you're doing you can redirect the front signal to your sub by using a switcher when you're listening to cds, then switch back to surround when watching movies. But again, you have to be experienced in the principle of A/V configuration.
In two channel mode, there will be no subwoofer signal unless you change the front speakers to 'small'. If you set the front speakers as 'large' then the full frequency spectrum will be sent to the front speakers, and none to the sub. Switching from bluray may keep the surround configuration until you restart as you mentioned.
There will be settings for the socket you play the Blue Ray on. Perhaps it has be set to a mode that doesn't use the full speaker settings? Or is not set to either the optical or coaxial connection needed to play back Dolby sounds?
Before we play taps and throw dirt on top of the Denon, perhaps a bit more triage is in order. I'm not certain who the patient is. Especially when you have "speaker issue" in the title. Are you saying there are some speakers that don't work ONLY with BluRay?
If it has NEVER worked the (unnamed) BD player or its cable(s) could be at fault, too.
What 'connections' are we talking about. HDMI, coaxial- or optical audio, 5.1 analog; to what input on the Denon assigned to what function?
Have you tried all audio paths out of the BD player? Is it configured to squawk in the right digital mode?
Do you have any other digital audio sources (CD/DVD) you could use to certify the audio paths that don't work with the BD player?
Check for nearby wireless devices and move them away.
-If the audio output from the source device (i.e. DVD, CD player) is digital (i.e. PCM, DTS or Dolby Digital) you're on your own.
I'd be willing to bet the output is analog (red and white RCA), because the
"beeps" and "exploding sounds" you describe seem like it could be caused by interference. Try replacing the cables. Otherwise the issue is probably with your receiver.
Check the center channel speaker and the surround sound audio settings. If you do not have a center speaker, it needs to be set to off on the receiver.
Plug your rear 5.1 speakers into the surround speaker connections. Be sure to use the AVR 1908 set up menu to set rear speakers (not an amp assign). Hope this helps.
read your manual well and double check all your connections, make sure the remote is working, check the battery contacts in it too. If you haven't got a manual, obtain one.
