I am not a repair professional. I am just a 78 year old
man who has been making his own repairs for about
50 years. Therefore the washer or dryer ID doesn't
mean much to me. I came to fixya looking for a
schematic for an really old AM/FM radio and
discovered that more than 4,700 people were asking
for help with a washer repair. I recently had a washer
repair of my own and found an excellent video which
showed me how to take my machine apart. This
video made it possible for me to do my own repair. I
was so impressed with the video that when I saw all
these people needing help, I wanted to tell them
about it. If you have a top loader (washer) of the
direct drive type, this video might be a Godsend for
you. If you look at the back of your washer and the
panel is solid (no small inspection plate to remove)
chances are you have a direct drive and this video
is just what you need. You can see this video at
www.acmehowto.com You will probably need
more help in determining what the problem is and
how to fix it. If your repair problem is a washer or
dryer I suggest you go to www.applianceaid.com
where they have very good trouble shooting and
repair information on most washers and dryers.
I think you'll find what you need there. Don't worry
about the timer, they hardly ever go bad. Good
luck with it. If I have helped you, please rate my
advice on fixya.

I too am an older fix it myself, all my life kinda guy. I think it would be more helpful if you would give the solution to this problem here, rather than (or in addition to) sending ppeople to the video. In my case, I know how to disassemble the washer/access it, and would just like to know if it is a board or motor problem.

My whirlpool top load WTW5300VW2 only drains when hose is lowered. It washes. but Draining tub spins slow with water inside , when I lower the hose water drains and drum speed increased

At the end of the wash/rinse programmes the drum would turn slowly while the pump removes the majority of the water and when the tub is virtually empty the drum will begin building speed over time until the spin speed is reached. The pump remains running until the end of the spin. That is how things usually go.

An automatic washer doesn't drain - it is pumped out!

Your description suggests either there is something wrong with the pump or programmer.

My Kenmore elite he3t is giving me a problem in the spin cycle. Even thought the spin setting is set on high or extra high, the drum turns very slowly and will eventually stop and the washer starts...

The machine will not advance to the high-speed spin cycle unless the water is drained first. The F02 error code manifests this condition as it means draining problem. Either the pump filter is blocked, the drain hose is clogged/kinked, the pressure switch is stuck in the full position, or the pump itself is not working. The display can be cleared by pressing the Pause/Cancel button twice.

Disconnect power and remove the three screws attaching the lower front access panel to the cabinet then pull the panel down and off the cabinet. You can prop up the bottom front edge of the washer or cushion and lean it against the wall to access and remove the screws more easily.

Once the panel is off, remove the filter by turning the knob counterclockwise. Clean the filter from any debris that prevents water from draining out properly. Click on the link below for further troubleshooting should the cleaning of the filter does not resolve the problem.

Spin cycle goes very slow or doesn't work.

Hello, After looking at the User Manual for our Washer, E20 is an error code for the drain. It said that either the house drain line is clogged or the washer drain line is clogged. After my husband took the drain line off the washer, cleaned it out, we noticed that the lines had a lot of detergent build up and figured that this is probably the cause of the error code. We put the washer back together and it is working properly. We have always used the "he" detergent for the front loader and always used the proper amount; however, from now on, we will use less than the recommended amount.
I hope this helps some of you who are having this problem.

Thanks

Machine will fill and turn slowly but will not

Check motor capacitor first.Try moving the drum and see there is no extra friction. If your washer has got braking mechanism check the brakes also. ( I have no idea about this model regarding break)

Frigidaire Affinity front load washer will not spin

sounds like the impeller on the drain pump is blocked. Noise could be coins trapped in drum. Check filter thoroughly, if you cannot remove blockage you may have to remove tubes from pump to clear out any blockage.

Frigidaire Affinity Washer beeps & won't spin

The drain filter is clogged. I had the same problem. There is a filter inside the "drain boot" (black) that comes from the drum to the drain pump. Mine was completely clogged with money, lint, etc..
