too work the combo unit you have to put the switch in the AV1 or the AV2 position to work your TV/DVD. Do you have the manual.
You can also try these codes in the TV position. It will only work the TV though not DVD.
10054, 10030, 10171, 10020, 10028, 10065, 10096, 10381, 11271, 11314, 11394, 11931, 11944, 11963

Have you done the code search to see if your TV/DVD is supported by the remote.
Then the remote will not work with the TV/DVD. If you would like you can call Direct tv at 1-800 directtv they will be able to help you out more.

Hi,
You can program the Direct TV remote to control your TV by using the below steps:
1. Turn on the TV
2. Slide the MODE switch to the TV position.
3. Press and hold the MUTE and SELECT keys at the same time until the green light under the TV position flashes twice, then release both keys.
4. Using the number keys enter the 5-digit code (20675, 21268). If performed correctly, the green light under TV flashed twice.
5.Aim the remote at your TV and press the PWR key once. Your TV should turn off. If it does not turn off, repeat steps 3 and 4, trying the other code.
6. Slide the MODE switch to the DIRECTV position. Press TV POWER. Your TV should turn on.

If you have already tried the codes and programming procedures in all the three positions, i.e; TV, AV1 and AV2 and still it does not work, you have to manually search for the correct codes or try the other codes for Sylvania TVs:
10054, 10030, 10171, 10020, 10028, 10065, 10096, 10381,
11271, 11314, 11394, 11931, 11944, 11963

NOTE: Please read steps 2 through 4 completely before proceeding.
Highlight or write down the codes and device you wish to program
before starting step 2.

NOTE: If the LED did not blink twice, repeat steps 2 through 4 and enter
the same code again.
Aim the remote control at the device and press POWER
once.The device should turn off. If it does not, repeat
steps 2 through 5, trying each code for your brand until

Evidently you have never tried programming this remote. If the mode switch is in the TV position it will only allow codes starting with the numeral 1 (one). 10000-19999. I have read the manual several times and have tried the two codes that you suggested, but the mode switch has to be on AV1 or AV2. It still doesn't work. I cannot accept this un-doable solution and have probably wasted $12.95 inless you have a workable solution
I have the Direct TV reciever remote RC64 that I would like to work with my new Sylvania LD320SSX Tv/DVD Combo. I have tried all the codes that was listed for Sylvania and Funai (the manufacturer) but I cannot get the remote to control the volume or power. Please do not tell me something that's in the manual, I have read it several times.
Like I told the previous EXPERT with the mode switch on the TV position the remote will only let you enter codes that begin with the numeral 1 (one). Only numbers between 10000-19999 can be entered. I have also tried the mode switch in AV! (it will take those numbers) but it will not control the TV function i.e. volume, power, etc. Also I spent 45 minutes using the searching for codes, so please do not suggest that next.
I have the manual, which I have read several times. If the solution was in the manual I would not have paid $12.95 to get an answer.
I have spent 40 minutes with the mode switch on TV and about 30 minutes with position AV1.
