Okay, it is that the phone is probably set to 3G or 2100mhz ONLY, while you want Quad-Band EDGE & 3G. Basically we want to change a hidden setting to make sure we have all that we can selected, the options are like 1, 3G only 2, 3G & GSM 3, ???
I dont remember the options exactly but it is the one that has both GSM or EDGE AND 3G. So type this in exactly like you are dialing in a phone number

You should get an error message and then you will be in the engineering mode (also called the test menu).
In this menu, you can either do a factory reset, which will erase everything in the phone. That should fix it.
If you would rather not reset everything in the phone find the option in that menu marked "connection band" or "band frequency" or "network band or frequency."
Once you are in that part of the menu, select it so it has all it can, if it says GSM, or EDGE, or GPRS, or 3G or HSDPA, you want BOTH, whatever both is, you want both as your option.
