NO CONTINUITY FROM HEADSHELL TO RCA PIN. I SUSPECT A GROUND PROBLEM, OR A BAD CONTACT? ANY IDEAS? DON'T KNOW HOW TO REMOVE TONEARM. BEST,
LOU
No continuity means you have an OPEN, not a short.
Before you tear the tonearm apart, check each of the 4 contacts for continuity to the various RCA cable conductors. Two will be to the outer conductors (ground) and each of the other two should have continuity to one and only one center conductor, NO grounds.
The wires are very fine and crimps may have failed, or oxide has built up on the contacts within the headshell. Sometimes repeated plug/unplug action will clean them up.
