Hi ive got a 1999 cr125..got this bike a couple weeks ago and it was running fine. i crashed it and it ran fine for the rest of the day but after i crashed it it doesnt want to start or run. it seems 2 run ok when ticking over but as soon as you start to ride it and the power bands kick in it just splutters and cuts out. ive replaced the spark plug, cleaned the carb, tried new fuel and changed the plug cap and nothing seems to work. do you have any suggestions??

Sounds like its starving for fuel. When the engine stops, instantly turn the fuel valve (at the tank) off. Then ck if the carburetor has any fuel in the float bowl.

There is no need to run anything other than regular gas in the bike, the extra octane only makes the VMax engines run hotter. I would start by adding about a half a can of Sea Foam to about a half tank of gas. Run it at idle until the new mixture is in the carbs 7 or 8 minutes ought to do it. Leave the bike sit overnight, then top off the gas tank and take the bike for a hard ride, ride it like you stole it, this should clear your problem. CV carbs also need to be synced once in awhile and should have been done if you rejetted.

Check that the exhaust wasn't damaged in the crash. The exhaust on modern restricted motorbikes is a big part of the correct running of the engine. It could also be the induction system rubbers, If it is not fitted properly the extra air into the engine will change the power characteristics.

Engine Vibration

Low octane gas and a missfire could caused the knock sensor to send a signal to the computer which retarded the timing and caused you to loose power. When you killed and restarted it, it recovered. Maybe some new plugs are needed.
