Craftsman gas leaf blower will not start. Spark and gas lines ok. Not getting gas to plug even after prime and several pulls. How do I find gas supply problem. Diaphram in carb looks ok .It actually started one time and ran fine. The problem seems to be in the carb. The plug remains dry even after several pulls in the choke position. What can I do to determine if it is a carb or other problem

Basics to check:
1) Spark plug - brown or dark brown - OK
a) is it carbon or fuel fouled
b) is there spark

2) Muffler remove for inspection
a) exhaust screen clean or plugged
b) inspect cylinder wall/piston as the flywheel is slowly rotated
3) Check cylinder compression

Fuel starvation - 'lean fuel' condition
Basic things to check:
1) spark plug
2) spark arrestor in muffler
3) fuel lines and tank filter
4) turn adjustment needles out (counterclockwise) 1/4 to 1/2 turn
Chain Saws:
5) check impulse tube and intake boot for cracks or leaks
*if all of the above are OK and/or do not improve performance then:
Remove Carburetor
6) replace gaskets/diaphragms
a) use a spray carb cleaner to clean jets, holes, and body of carb
b) fuel pump diaphragm goes against the carb body,
then the gasket towards the outside
c) metering gasket goes against the carb body,
and the diaphragm goes towards the outside

I can not get my craftsman leaf blower to start. I put a new spark plug and fresh gas. Won't start.

Not to sure without seeing or hearing it being pulled over. Compression? Very likely needs some carb work/kit.

I have a Craftsman 794774 leaf blower/vac w/25cc engine that won't start.

Many of these small blowers have an alloy key moulded into the flywheel, if this has sheared it will knock the ignition timing out, and will never run.

I have a PB251 Echo blower that won't start. I have a good spark Good compression and clean new gas is getting to cylinder because i have a wet spark plug when i removed it ,yet it won't even...

I suggest cleaning the carburetor and replacing the diaphrams. The diaphrams come with a rebuild kit that has a lot of unused parts.

I have two craftsman leaf blowers that will not start, have changed the plug, is there a coil I need to check?

With the plug removed but connected to the spark plug wire if you pull the cord do you get spark? If so try pouring a cap full of gas in the spark plug hole and reinstall the plug and wire and try to start it. If it starts and stalls then you are not getting gas thru the carburetor. Check the fuel filter in the tank. Also check all the fuel lines and the primer ball and see if they are cracked. Also check the carburetor to see if the choke is opening and closing.

I can't get my Poulon leaf blower to start

So far everything looks good. You're getting fuel, and you're getting spark. Only problem, is you've gotten too much fuel in it, and need to get rid of some before you can proceed. Take that spark plug out, and pull the starting rope hard several times. This will force the largest amounts of fuel out. Now's the part where you'll have to trust me. Use a match or a lighter to "flash" the cylinder. Make sure you don't have excess fuel spilled over the blower, but hold that match or lighter right up to the spark plug hole, and it'll "puff" at you. Please don't look into the hole while you're doing this. Flash the cylinder, and then pull the rope again, and flash it again. Next, make sure the spark plug is dry then put it back in. Set your choke to full choke, and pull until it hits once. Then put the choke on half, and it should start within 3 pulls.

Won't start --has gas--has spark craftsman leaf bower

most likely the air filter is clogged, take it out blow it out or spray water through it and allow it to dry completely.

alterinavely, just pouring a small amount of gas onto the filter should make it work, i would do that even if you do clean it properly.

this method works for cars too!

I have a 25cc Craftsman Blower/Vac model 358.794941 which will not start. I have replaced the spark plug and carburetor. This is 2 years old and not even 10 hours on it.

hi

if you have compression and spark(a blue one) try priming the engine, put some gas in the sparkplug hole and start the engine.if it fires only the gas you putted inside there is a delivery problem to find and fix(carburator and hoses.

I just foun out that i forgot to add oil to gas mixture to my blo

hello, what you should do is drain out the gas from the tank into a clean container so you can add the oil to it and you should also check your spark plug make sure it's o.k. after draining out the gas try starting the blower a few times with out the spark plug wire connected to the spark plug this will flush out and of the pure gas from the fuel lines, after doing this re-connect the Spark plug wire and add your fuel/oil mixture and re-start, it might take a few times for it to start due to all the gas in the engine but it'll start also if your blower has a primer bulb you may want to prime it a few times after adding the fuel oil mixture to get it in the combustion chamber, if after doing this you still get nothing you'll want to re-place your spark plug it might be fouled out. good luck

Crafsman gas blower: fuel lines to primer bulb had to be reconnected; now blower won't fire at all. Replaced plug and made sure it sparked; still nothing when I try to start.

Hi

Priming the engine(put some gas in the sparkplug hole ,after you have checked the sparkplug, the colour of the spark has to be violet).Start the engine. If it starts there is a carburation problem, change the fuel lines to primer bulb.

wish you good luck savumihai71
