Printer not grabbing paper

ABOUT HALF THE TIME, THE PRINTER DOESN'T GRAB PAPER TO PRINT, OR IT GRABS IT HALF-WAY. ONE THING IT MIGHT BE IS A LITTLE THING IN THE PAPER TRAY THAT HOLDS THE PAPER TIOGHT - PART OF IT BROKE OFF, SO THAT IT'S NOT SNUG IN THE TRAY. DO YOU SELL THAT LITTLE PLASTIC PART??

THANKS,

R GEISLER

SOURCE: Paper not grabbing

There are two possible solutions for this problem.
Usually it is due to the pickup roller wearing or becoming contaminated with toner or paper dust.
Simple solution, clean the pickup roller, the best thing for this is WD40, put a very small amount on a clean cloth and wipe the roller underneath the printer. Use a clean dry piece of cloth to wipe off any residue.
More complicated solution, remove the roller and reposition, you will need two small flat-bladed screwdrivers to pry apart the retaining clips, remove the roller, a tight squeeze beneath the laser housing, reposition and clean as above then refit the roller. You should find that the paper is picked up cleanly once again.

I hope this helps,

SOURCE: Printer will not grab paper

Check to make sure the paper sensor tab moves freely. You might try air dusting around the paper pick-up rollers to make sure the area is free from any accumulation of dust, dirt, or paper residue.

My printer will not grab the paper

I have an R2400 and it is very finicky about grabbing the paper. I have to hand feed sheets of thick matte paper one at a time with just the right amount of pressure and even then sometimes it takes two tries. Make sure you keep the rollers very clean.

check the printer's printing preferences on properties option.should be set to normal then check the printer rollers if its dirty where the papers pass thru, if the problem persists load only 1 paper every time you print for the printer not to grab more papers.i think it is in the feeder and the sensor maybe its dirty need to be cleaned up.

The rollers won't grab the paper. It may grab toward the end of the print job so that the second half gets printed on the top half of the paper. Or it just won't grab at all.

Dear User,

Your Printer rollers seems to go plane, and they are unable to grab paper properly. You should clean them with a clean piece of paper.
And you can also rub silghtly them with an ambry paper, if needed so that it may grip the paper properly.

Thanks

I keep getting paper jambs or sometimes it won't grab the paper, or grabs 3 or 4 sheets and then jambs

Try cleaning the pickup roller with a little alcohol. Also try some fresh paper. Paper can pick up moisture and tend to stick together. Seperate your paper with a fannig motion before inserting.

Paper does not feed - GRABS RIGHT SIDE

gears below the paper feeding tray are damaged or some dust particle have blocked the gears try to clean it by blowing the dust use normal greece (oily substance) between the gears so that they can move frequently to pull the paper, and if the gears are damaged you have to change the gears.

Printer will not feed paper / message E2 ...cannon pixma mp 160

don't know if it's the same problem i had but its maybe worth a try. My paper went in a little, the wheels were turning but it didn't take the rest of the paper or print.
someone replied to my problem, i tried it and its fixed 1st time, for others its taken a few attempts and then worked..
Solution:- Use a piece of thin card, a magazine cover is what i used, make sure its A4 size then try to print something, as the paper starts moving PUSH it through! and hey presto it worked for me, everything printing fine now. hope this helps, let me know how you get on. Garty
