I tried what you suggested, however, to no avail. I tried this numerous times and still only get flashing lights! I have been told it is a hardware problem, sad to hear a printer this old is worth nothing!

Lights flashing, supply expired is the comment in the window. Have tried 3 new ink cartridges to no avail. HP printers seem to be full of problems.

When I try to print anything, the lights flash and it tells me to power off/on the unit. It does this everytime. I have disconnected the power for 5 mins and also tried reinstalling the drivers/software on my computer. Nothing has worked so-far.

I can copy whatever I want and have full use of the enlarge/reduce feature, everything working fine except when I prompt it to print a document through the computer. I have uninstalled the software and unplugged the usb and power cords then reinstalled the software, plugged in the usb, then powered up and got one printing, then the lights began flashing again and so I turned it off and then on....it won't print again and I'm tired of trying the same things over and over again. I did get some sort of error message like "Startprinterprompt missing" when I tried to print in Notepad. Will I be unhappy with a new color laser printer when printing greeting cards?

My printer did the same thing.  It turned out to be the scanner table cable. the one that you can see throught the glass.  When you follow it to the connection, where the ink carrage is,  and under the silver cover you might find the flat cable disconnected or loose.  I plugged it back and it stopped.  Now I have to tackle the ink tray problem. Hope this helps. Toby

Why does exclamation point orange light flashing on HP Officejet 7110?

Hi,
The lights on the front of the HP product can be on, off, or blinking (flashing), depending on the status of the product. The lights indicate product status and are useful for diagnosing printing problems.

ALL FLASHING LIGHTS

hi there.
if all lights are flashing, turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source, wait for about 10minutes. while its off, check for obstruction or paper jam inside the printer, take it out, if theres nothing in there, good, turn it on, if still all lights are flashing,
that means, the printer is broken, call epson to get a replacement printer if the product is still 1 yr. from the date of purchase, if it is more than a year, most probably, thats out of warranty,

All the lights keep flashing --won't print!

I removed the black ink cartridge that was REFILLED at a popular retail outfit and replaced it with a remanufactured one I bought on the web. As soon as I closed the lid, the flashing stopped and it has been working GREAT ever since. Many postings had already recommended the changing to a "new cartridge" to remedy this flashing lights and "pen failure."

Turn on, all lights flashing, can't turn off unless i unplug printer

It's highly likely that your printer has reached the "service required" point but I couldn't be 100% sure.

I'd recommend downloading the SSC utility from SSCLG, get that installed and then follow the instructions for configuring to your printer model and resetting the protection and overflow counters.

If that works you'll then want to be thinking about cleaning the waste ink pads or installing an external waste kit.

If it doesn't work you have bigger problems and need to describe the flashing patterns and any other symptoms in detail.

Hope that helps.

All three lights are flashing on my HP Deskjet 6127. I tried unplugging it from the power source and then plugging it back in. When I try to turn it on all three lights flash and it won't turn off with out...

Hi

The HP Deskjet 6127 has four buttons and three lights on the front panel

Flashing lights on the printer indicate the status of the printer

When all the lights are flashing, the printer may need to be restarted

try this 1st press the power button to turn off the printer, and then press the power button to it back on very quickly.

2nd press the power button to turn off the printer and hold it down.

Good luck
