See the panel on the side of the DVD Drive? remove that by lifting it backwards, it has a black button on top of it, remove it and now you have access to the screws on the side of the DVD drive, after unscrewing there's a button on the opposite side, push it sideways to unlock the drive and push the DVD drive out of the casing. Hope you figure it out.

You will need to open the computer case. Look for philips screws on the back of the tower. Use a philips screw driver to remove them.

Once you're inside;
- Find the CD-ROM and unplug all cables going to it. Remember which cables go where.
- Look for the screws that hold in the CD-ROM and unscrew them with your philips screwdriver.
- Gently push the drive towards the front of the tower until it is out.

What you should do is get a pin that will fit in the small hole of the of the CD drive of your computer and insert it until it seems to push out the tray and then pull it out. Hope this could help.. Thanks..

Wot spin the disc

The issue that you are having is that the motor and/or cd-rom/dvd-rom drive for your ps2 has gone bad which has actually occurred with a lot of slimline playstation 2's.

first of all is the system under warrantty?
secondly the paper clip should work in any case
its either u are not applying proper presure or the clip is short ... the clip should be atleast 2 inches long and when u insert the clip at some point u will feel there is no place inside thats the time u apply presure and it should open ... its a way to open the tray which works on mechenical parts so there is no point of failure with them

HP Pavilion Slimline s7400n PC

Hmm...Hope this works out !

Step1: Device Manager
Right Click on 'MyComputer' and click on Properties.Click on 'Hardware' and then Click on 'Device Manager'.

For the Category 'DVD-CD-Roms', click the plus sign and then the branch expands down..whatever is the name of the drive there, right click the name and click on uninstall..(If the category
'DVD-CD-Roms' is not there at all, you'll have to remove the drive off the system and put it back again and then try)...

Step 2: Registry

Click on Start->Run(Xp) or Start->StartSearch(Vista) and then
type in Regedit and hit enter..
The registry editor will open up. Click the + sign next to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, the branch will expand down..then click the + sign next to 'System' and then 'CurrentControlSet' and then 'Control' and then 'Class' and then click on the folder '4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318'....on the right side..find the enteries 'Upper Filters and Lower Filters' ...If they are found right click and delete them... and then restart your system. !!!!

Check now if the drive works !
If it doesnt then update the firmware of your cd-rom drive, If this still doesnt work..then iam afraid the drive is bad..(There is no need to Reinstall the O.S)

Note:Checking in BIOS & Device Manager for the hardware presence/detection of the drive is very important..If the drive is not getting detected in BIOS, then step 1 and 2 wont work...
Only Reseating the Drive might work!

Best Of Luck !

Cd drive

I could tell you but it would seem like a long list of things to do. I'm giving you a link for a manual that tells you and SHOWS you exactly what to do. Start with the section opening your computer and then make your way to removing and replacing your optical disk drive. If this is what you needed please rate this as fixed. If you need more help with this just add a comment and I'll be glad to help you further. *Pay special attention to part that says what size drive you can install. This is a slimline and can only accspt certain size drives. Thanks.
