Red Status Light

I turn the power on and it tries to start. There is no picture and the fan runs a little bit. After about 30 seconds, the green timer light turns off and the red status light turns on. I've tried changing the bulb with the same results. When reset, the green light flashes and goes out but when re-powering, results are again the same. I've tried disconnecting from the power for several days, same problem. The owners manual said to take it to a service rep. I am hoping to avoid that cost and challenge. Any advise? Thanks.

I have a Sony KDS-R50XBR1 that has no picture. When I turn on the TV, the green Power/Standby LED light blinks for about 30 seconds, then turns red and blinks five times. The Power/Standby LED repeats...

  • Five blinks - AKB circuit (automatic kine bias), the timer/standby indicator blinks for about 30 seconds then goes to the self-diagnosis function. Something is wrong with the video. Check video out, Q705, 732, 761 and other components on the C board, also check Q218, 219, 220 on the A board. In addition, unit could be in IK blanking, try turning up screen A2 slightly.

Turned on TV and had no picture. Now when I reset I get green blinking light then solid green status. After about 30 seconded red lamp light comes on. Is there a solution?

Your lamp is defective, incorrectly installed, or the cooling fan under the lamp is not cooling the lamp for some reason. Service that area.

Blinking Light on Mitsubishi SL4SU Projector

To jmatthews

Both power light and status light a solid red with no response to any buttons indicates the bulb timer has expired. You need to reset the timer by pressing and holding the left arrow key, the right arrow key and the power button all at the same time for a few seconds.

If there are no problems, the projector will fire up, but you must replace the bulb as it will fail soon and perhaps explode when it does.

Take care
