I looked up how to fix red horizontal lines on a Philips flat-screen tv. It turns out it needed the Y buffer upper replaced. I am not sure if this problem would be similar but it might help. I am also searching how to fix a fuzzy screen on a DLP tv. Hope you find what you need.
This happens due to increasing heat in tv, check exhaust fan is running and throwing hot air out of tv, check temp sensor is working fine mounted on lamp housing. When did you replaced lamp last time in tv? A weak lamp also does same problem.
the power supply is not working fine. your tv needs preventive service so that semiconductor, diodes and capacitors are changed on the power supply before it switches off completely on its own.
do it fast
okay
make sure put the lamp door back before trying to turn it on because they have switches on them that allow the tv to turn on. If that is ok you probably have a bad ballast. Call a local tv repair shop to further diagnose the problem.
It has you Posted as a projection TV and Not DLP, if Fan to Lamp stops running set will shut off to protect Lamp,I had a DLP that would play sometimes 30 mins then shut off drove me crazy trying to firgure it out and it turn out to be Fan would stop running I replaced Fan TV working fine . When you remove back engage toggler switch to up position put a piece of tape on it to hold it is a safty switch ,then turn tv on watch to see if all fans are running also if when tv trys to come on is there a spark coming from Ballast Board if so your new Lamp is defective it does happen if not your ballast board maybe Bad it is what turns on Lamp.If all fans are running Ballast Board.
I have the same problem with my 56" HD Samsung. It shuts off automatically and then on the power button the word Lamp is light up in green. Sometimes I can turn it back on but other times it won't and I have to wait a bit. It's been embarassing a couple times when people were over for a movie. I believe it might be some kind of overheating problem but would like someone to confirm this.
