He changed the mode to Video1 by the remote, not the TV. I tried that and everything else on the TV but nothing works. When I hit the menu button on the TV the only options I have are the picture/sound and language.

Bought a used TV and tried to turn it on and it is stuck on video2 mode.. tried a couple of universal remotes and none of them work.. I tried using the menu button on the tv and it only changes language and sound.. how do I change it???

  • Kimipoo Apr 12, 2008

I've asked Stacey about this already and am waiting for her reply, but wanted to run something by you all. My Sanyo just suddenly switched to Video1 mode. I didn't push any button. I was just sitting there, and poof, the screen was blue with Video1 in the upper right-hand corner. Then I pushed "previous channel" on my RCA universal remote, and my air conditioning unit came on. BTW, I have Comcast and the remote that comes with it, and tried pushing the input button as Stacey suggested, but the only thing that happened was that the "bypass" light on the cable box came on. Any comments, ideas? Thanks, ya'll!

Yippie, I figured out a solution that worked!!! I have a univeral remote from comcast, on that remote near the bottom left is a small button that says (input) tv/vcr, press that one time and whala!! the tv video screen was gone, I had to manually change the channel from the tv channel button on the unit. once I changed the channel to 3, my universal remote worked... the button is the second one from the bottom left... I was on hold with sanyo for a long time and just kept trying on my own, so good luck!!!!

Try pressing the Input button on the remote. This is the TV/VCR button. If this doesnt work, go to Walmart and buy a RCA Unversal Remote. Then press the Input button. This fixed mine.

I have a Sanyo DS27580 TV that our RCA RCR311w remote had no trouble putting into video mode, but it wouldn't take it out for some reason. I tried all the RCA codes for Sanyo without any help. I tried a GE univ. remote but just got basic functions, then just before buying another I found an old Philips PHDVR8L universal remote and code 506 allowed toggling the video/tv mode. I've tried all the RCA codes for Sanyo I can find but can't repeat the problem so there must have been some other code in the remote that worked.

I also had this problem. Tried a universal remote and it did not work....then I tried my JVC RM-SVS701U DVD remote and I was able to switch out of Video mode. Just try different Universal remotes you might have...I used 13 as the TV code.

Okay, I had the Exact same problem, I bought a Philips universal remore and it worked great when my tv was stuck on normal channels. But when it was on Video1 and I dropped the remot by accident, the remote reseted. So I was stuck on video 1 for awhile, but I started to mess with the menu, and of course there was nothing there that changed it from video 1 to normal channels...until...I hit the Channel Set button, and it gave me the options add/delete. Well I hit that and Boom! it brought me back to normal channels again, so it was easy sealing from there to get my control working. Hope this helps!

We had a sanyo tv that was stuck on video mode and we did not have the original remote. I bought an AVEX R6 universal remote for $20 from walmart and it worked. use the auto search method. We were very suprised that it worked because everything we read and even the customer service dept at sanyo said No universal remote can take it off video mode.

You may want to try a manual button or buttons that are located on the rear or even on the side of the TV if not you possibly need to get the original OEM remote. Thanks

I have had the same problem for days on my tv, and was very frustrated! I pulled some of the info from different sources here and wound up flipping through the channels using the up and down buttons on my 'clicker' that works with my dish network device. Went up to 10, then back to 03, and there it was! It worked! You all rock, big time!

Have you tried hitting the channel up button on the television?
It seems that if you can change to video 1 then changing back would be an option.
If there is a menu button on the television, then locating the antenna source could be in there.

The tv universal remotes are having very limited options in functions and tv universal remotes are only work correctly are like buttons power on/off volume up/down and channels up/down.Menu button and a Video setting option modes functions setting are another story all together. These two functions Menu button and Video setting modes funtions will not work correctly in any tv universal remotes.Because these Menu and Video setting modes are belong into the internal setting of the tv itself. It will only work correctly with the tv original remote only.Try website like Remotes.com to buy the tv original remote to use.

Sanyo model # ds19310 16 jnch tv stuck on video chanel wont change to any other chanel volume works pat of menue works but the channel search and two other chanel menue controls are not available tv skips...

Hi there,

If you still have the Sanyo remote, you just need to press the INPUT button on the remote. The channel search and some other functions are disabled when the TV is in video/AV/game mode.

If you don't have the Sanyo remote, but you have a Universal remote which you use with the TV, look for a button labelled INPUT or SOURCE on this remote and try pressing it.

If you don't have any remote for this TV or you are using a universal remote which does not have an INPUT or SOURCE button, please reply to me from within this page for further assistance and let me know the brand and model number of any universal remote you are using. There is no option in the menu for doing this, but there a couple of methods which work on some TVs

Hope this helps.

BElectric

TV (Model DS27510) is stuck on Video2 setting, unable to change!!

Ours is doing the same thing except on Video 1. I called Sanyo customer service and they said I need the original remote. They were willing to sell me one for $20. Here is what I did instead. I used a cable box and hooked the cable in to it. Then I took the type of cables that will hook into my video 1 slot and plugged them in there and plugged them into the back of the cable box in the "cable out" positions. It worked ! If you do not have a cable box you might try a DVD/VCR combo or a VCR. Good Luck

Your in the video mode so you have to change the input. On the original remote, its the button left of the power button. A universal may not work for this. If you need the original remote, Its available at http://www.remotes.com Good Luck
