The device is an InFocus LP 290 with less than 100 hours on the bulb. I have used the projector several times over the course of two years without any problem, but never longer than 3 hours at a time. A couple of days ago I was using the projector for a full-day presentation and after the 4th hour or so a grid of closely-spaced vertical yellowish lines appeared on the projection screen (not on the computer screen) and other color abnormalities started to appear. Then the projector quit. I was able to power it on but it would only stay on for less than a minute. There are no unusual LEDs lit, and the color appears normal after it is turned back on. The following day I tested it again with the same results in that all appears normal for the first four hours and then it unexpectedly shuts off.

There is an issue with the power supply edge connection with the main board. you'll need to have it sent to an infocus service center for repair. try av solutions in ny. they're pretty good. www.avsolutionsny.com

Just replaced bulb in projector and now have error lights

Try unplugging it for a period of time. And while you have it unplugged get a can of air and clean it out. When they are used for long periods of time and over time dust builds up and cause issues with all projectors. The require to be cleaned. I do mine about every month or so. More or less depends on use. Mine gets used everyday.

Infocus LP 280 runs for 1 min then shuts down, runs again then

are the leds on the top lit or blinking? it could be the lamp, the ballast, or the fans. check the lamp. if there are black spots or bulges in the lamp, replace it. if not, make sure the fans are running. if they are, replace the ballast.

Infocus LP-820 no power

You should get some indication of power even without the globe. This can however be a problem relating to the globe not being inside the projector.
Most projectors use a switch inside so they know when a lamp is installed. Some have several of these and a fuse that is on the lamp unit itself.

Replace the lamp back into the projector and apply power again. If you get lights then you have that much solved at least.

If there are still no power lights at all, then you may have had a power surge that not only killed the globe, but has blown the internal fuse for the power supply as well (or even killed the power supply)
To get access to the power supply you will need to disassemble the whole unit almost. If your not comfortable doing this, then I would advise getting it checked over by your local tech. It could save you hundreds of dollars buying a new lamp when the projector may not be worth repairing.

Infocus IN72 powers up but no image, replaced the bulb but still no image...

Hi there

This is most probably a Ballast ( lamp's powersupply ) problem.

Make 100% sure that this unit is out of warranty because InFocus Projectors come out standard with a 2 year warranty.

Infocus X2

I can almost guarantee that your bulb is out. We probably have 20-30 projectors of this model in the school and bulb life averages a little over 100 hours even though they advertise 3000 hours. Infocus has been known most for their poor cooling system to the bulb over the years and most owners won't get the life expectancy of the bulb. If you remove the bulb you will find a small restrictive vent screen on the bulb and commonly it will be filled with collected dust. This model really doesn't have any removable/cleanable filtering system installed - again a cheap and poorer design then many other brands. We have decided not to purchase infocus projectors anymore in the district. They were a seller at one time because they were cheap, but because they don't last they weren't really a deal after all. Sometimes though a ballast for a projector will go out and it will be unable to power up a good bulb. I wouldn't consider fixing it because of their overall poorer reliability.  If your looking for a cheap but more reliable brand of projectors I'd steer towards Epson projectors. They tend to have lower costing projectors and bulbs then most and I have seen in person that they last well above their advertised lamp hours in different models. Their are many good brands out there but InFocus is not really one of them - they have under built projectors and poor phone support.
Hope this helps a little. - Scott

2 bulbs blown.

To be honest, most people who experience short lamp life on the Infocus X2 is on the genuine infocus lamps. If you read the user opinions here, you'll know what I mean. Me personally think that the X2 lamp filter some how manage to block the vents with dust which results in inefficient cooling in effect reducing the life of the lamp. The best thing to do is vacuum the lamp filters regularly and stick to cheap lamps as the oem ones on the Infocus X2 are also no good. Or better still, just replaace the bulb on it's own from here and save a lot of money.
