When you lost windows password, you can get into safe mode (F8 when booting up) to recover windows password when you forgot user account password, but if you forgot admin password, there is no way to change it, you should use tool to recover admin password. Yesterday, I forgot my Windows administrator password. Last, I used Windows Password Seeker to remove my Windows password successfully. It's worth trying.

Firstly windows has an account called "administrator" which doesn't normally show up on the welcome screen but you can get to it either by booting in safe mode (it does show up on the welcome screen when in safe mode) or by pressing ctrl+alt+del at the welcome screen to get an old fassioned login dialog. Often this account will have no password on it.
If the administrator account is locked out or has a password on it then there is a third party password reset and account unlocking tool available from http://www.windowsloginrecovery.com

Free trial Windows Password Recovery Tool---Windows Password Unlocker is highly recommended
1.Download Windows Password Unlocker from Password Unlocker Official site
2.Decompress the Windows password unlocker and note that there is an .ISO image file. Burn the image file onto an blank CD with the burner freely supported by Password Unlocker.
3.Insert the newly created CD into the locked computer and re-boot it from the CD drive.
4.After launched the CD, a window pop up with all your account names(if you have several accounts) select one of the accounts that you have forgotten its password to reset it. Just one press, you have removed the password.

You need to temporarily remove the CMOS battery from the motherboard to reset the BIOS password.

Many answers but nobody knows the question!
If its the BIOS password then none of the above solutions will work.
You have to short the Eprom chip to remove the password or use a DELL master password generator.

Try logging in as the administrator if you are running XP then at the login screen hit esc key twice. It will then change the screen to a different look. For the user name enter administrator then hit enter. This will only work if you have not set a password for the administrator account. If the computer logs in then go to the control panel then user account there you can change your password that was forgotten. You might want to set a password for your administrator account as well since that is a huge security risk.

If you happen to forgot windows login password, you could enter safe mode (F8 when booting up) to retrieve windows password while you forgot user account password, but when you forgot administrator password, there's no way to change it, you need to use software program to recover administrator password. Last week, I forgot my Windows administrator password. Finally, I successfully recover the Windows password by using Windows Password Seeker. It's worth trying. http://www.passwordseeker.com/howtouse.html
