AKAI PDP5006H Plasma tv

Tv will not turn on. when the power switch is turned on, instead of going to stand by, it tries to turn on. there is a click, the led light goes to green, the screen flashes a faint "AKAI" like when it started normally. then there is a click and led flashes four times. the screen goes blank and led just keps flashing. I cannot find a service tech in my area and would like any advice you could send my way.

the tv has always been plugged into a surge protector, this problem just arose recently. the owners manual dos not have a troubleshooting section for a blinking code.I've read other people having the same problem with other plasmas. Has anyone come up with a solution.

I have an Akai PDP5006H plasma tv. I have had it for about 2.5 years. It has always been plugged into a surge protector. Last week the tv will not turn on. When the main power is turned on, instead of going to standby. the LED light flashes 4 times and goes to green, like it is triing to start. The screen will flash a faint "AKAI" on a blue screen just like a normal start up from stand by. But then goes blank end the LED light just starts flashing. Can you give me any sugestions on what the problem could be.

The red standby LED is lit. When I press the power button, the LED changes briefly to green, then goes out, and then returns to red. The TV never turns on, and the LED does not flash a error code.

Absolutely, the blinking light is a code for the service tech to use to diagnose what the problem is.

Call AKAI to help diagnose the code specifically, so you can change the correct part!

Have the SSB modual replaced. the problem is the talk back to the power supply shutting down the system. it may need prior authorization to order but best guess is SSB after that it 's the digital board. have a tech determine the ture problem. the best thing to do is call the akai for the nearest repair or go to the web sight. some of the akai products are made by Funia.

1) Is the TV plugged directly into an outlet or is it plugged into another device, such as a cable box or audio receiver? If it is, try plugging directly into a wall outlet. Sometimes, devices like cable boxes don't provide enough current to power on more powerful newer TVs (like Plasma, LCD, etc) .

2) Check the manual to see if the flashing LED is a code for something you need to troubleshoot. The number and color of flashes may correspond to a problem that may or may not be easily fixed.

Hope that helps. Let me know how you make out.

Our akai pdp6065ta 60" plasma hd tv will not turn

Try the power button on the tv. Your remote may have dead batteries. If no luck still, it sounds like your power supply unit has gone south. Check for warranty before attempting to repair.

It sounds like you have failing capacitors in the power supply. It would be best to have a technician to look at it or locate a power supply for the TV and replace it.

AKAI 50'' Plasma PDP5006H Main Power Supply Board p/n LJ4400057A

I looked around for a power supply for you and turn up nothing. I see your problem. Nobody is selling. Best just to fix the board itself.
What I would do is get a Service Manual over the internet. Nodevice.com is selling the Service Manual. Usually cost under $20. It will help you diagnose the source of the problem and fix it by soldering in the new part. The Service Manual will give you circuit diagrams, schematics, test points, and part number lists. And most cases the new part cost less than $15 by searching on the internet with the part number.
It's possible that it's just a bad capacitor or transformer on the power supply board. Cheaper than replacing the board.
I hope I solve the problem for you.

HDMI to DVI-D conversion problem. Not in compliance?

It souunds like te TV is having problems with the streaming data being applied Most plasmas with DVI connections were actually designed for PC type input signals  Unfortunately the TV's input may not be able to stand up to the stream of signal the DVD or cable box wants to display. You can try and lower the output of both devices to 720P Good luck to you

Akai 42 plasma controller can not be programed tried every code

i just had this same problem with my 42" akai plasma and after getting no help no where i finally figured it out on my own. The model i have is a PDP42Z5TA but my guess it will work with yours also.if your remote is like mine there should be a "set" button somewhere up at the the top.hold this down till the "tv" button goes solid red. with the tv on or off keep pressing the power button till the tv turns on or off( dont go too fast) or you can pass it up easily cause when the tv does turn on or off you have to hit enter to lock it in.

VIDEO BOARD

Your tv is going into an error protection mode upon startup. The problem is probably not the video board. When the tv starts, it checks with the cpu to confrim voltages, if a voltage is off or there is a short somwhere, it will prevent the tv from starting up by clicking the relays to power off the high voltage of the tv. The problem could be the power supply, zsus board or ysus. Its hard to say without opening up the back of the set and testing some stuff with the meter, but normally its just a shorted cap, worst case you blew out a fet.. But easy to find if you know what your looking for.

Akai model pdp4249g

Hello drifter,The design of the tv enables the auto search to detect any input signal you have selected. It could be TV (off air, video signals etc) so just switch on whatever inputs to the akai plasma befote you switch the Akai plasma on and let it do the work for you. just relax and watch the tv. recap 1. switch on the input eg video deck, DVD, VCD, or satellite dish. 2. switch on your AKAI PLASMA and 3. wait for the akai to search for your input signals. TRy this simple procedure and if it doesnt work just post back the message. The DON
