Reboot your computer and press the F8 key right before you see the XP loading splash screen. You should get a menu that lists things like safe mode and vga mode. Select the vga mode option and hit enter twice. This will boot windows into 640x480 resolution and will allow you to change the resolution back to 1024x768 at 60hz

Not optimum mode recommended mode 1280x1024 60hz syncmaster 712 n pop up occasionly I have to shut down computer

Your video card and computer memory may not be sufficient to run in the recommended "optimum performance mode" that Samsung and Windows both suggest. Please try setting your display setting at a lower resolution such as 1080 x 760 which is still quite excellent. Otherwise you may need to buy a better video card or increase system memory to run the higher mode graphics.
Good Luck!

To term in the computer is the refresh rate of the monitor. Depending on the operating system it is done a couple different ways.

Right mouse click on the desktop and choose properties or personalize (depending on your OS). In windows xp click on the last tab to change the resolution. Click on apply then click on advanced, the monitor tab, to change the refresh rate.

In Vista, click on Display Settings to be able to do the above.

Not optimum mode

This means your computer windows resolution is not display in the correct resolution which your samsung LCD will take.

What you need to do it boot the computer in safe mode. (pressing F8 at start up and select safe mode) This should bring the windows to start up in the generic 800x600 resolution.

Once you are able to see the display in safe mode, go onto the display properties and change the resolution.
* right click on desktop -> properties -> settings

I have an error message on my screen which ios moving around. It says - 'not optimum mode. Recommended mode : 1280 x1024 60Hz'.

Sounds like you have an LCD monitor. LCD monitors look best in their native resolution. Yours must be 1280x1024. You need to (assuming this is a Windows PC) right click on the desktop and choose Personalize, Display Settings (Vista) or Properties, Settings (XP or older). Set the slider to 1280x1024. It'll confirm the change and then the message should never reappear.
