There is an error with this application

Hey,

I started to had problems with RS after I made some changes due to the error 2123, especifically, problems with the compatibility mode in RosettaStoneVersion3.exe

So. Go to Program Files-->Rosetta Stone folder-->RosettaStoneVersion3.exe. Right click on this file, Properties, Compatibility, and click on "Run this program with compatibility for Windows 7" (and check the box 'run this program as administrator').

I use Windows 7 x32. After this, RS came back to life, and I was able to use my headset with it too.

There is file called tracking.db3 which gives us lot of error like 2124, 5611, 2123 etc.... you can find a perfect fix at Questions Rosetta Stone Community

Create a security exception. 1. In ESET NOD32 (Smart Security 5), click Setup.
2. On the Setup screen, click Enter advanced setup... (bottom of screen).
3. On the Advanced setup screen, open Computer -> Antivirus and antispyware -> Exclusions.
4. Click Add , locate/select the Rosetta Stone Version 3 executable, then click OK. (In my case, the executable was in the C:\Program Files (x86)\Rosetta Stone Version 3 folder.)
5. Click OK on the Advanced setup screen.
Set the Rosetta Stone compatibility mode. 1. Right click the Rosetta Stone desktop icon or Start -> All programs -> Rosetta Stone.
2. Select Properties from the list.
3. Select the Compatibility tab.
4. Check the Run this program in compatibility mode box.
5. In the list below the check box, select the OS (in my case, Windows 7).
6. Click OK.

Hi! The problem it was generated by the ANTIVIRUS because it doesn't recognize the application.
You can fix it like this:
# open ANTIVIRUS > SETTINGS > EXPERT MODE (if have) or ADVANCED SETTINGS
# go on EXCLUSIONS and choose ADD or the + sign (I don't know what antivirus do you have installed on your machine, if it is a Windows or a Mac...)
# once the BROWSING BAR is on (to choose the EXCLUSION) go
C:\Program Files\Rosetta Stone\Rosetta Stone Version 3
and choose
RosettaStoneVersion3 file
# hit OPEN > OK.

You're done!

I started getting "Error 2123" recently, and spent A LOT of time searching for the fix. Here is what finally worked:

Find the hidden file "tracking.db3". It's in the hidden folder "ProgramData/Rosetta Stone" under the "C:" directory. Copy and paste it to the Rosetta Stone install directory (Program Files/Rosetta Stone).

Error 2123 should be gone, but now there will be Error 2125. So, in the Rosetta Stone install directory, run the "service_installer" .exe file by double-clicking it.

Hello my friend.Usually this error is cause because antivirus is blocking that program and usually bitdefender.So
1.Open BitDefender Antivirus in Expert Mode,
2.Click on the Antivirus tab
3.Under the Shield tab click on the Advanced Settings button.
BitDefender Active Virus Control Settings window should be displayed
4.Now add an exclusion for Rosetta Stone(click on + and find your program and click ok)
If you don't have bitdefender add an exclusion like we did with bitdefender for your rosetta stone

just reinstall the Rosetta Stone application.

2.)click on the Antivirus module

You may get this problem if you have BitDefender Internet Security. To fix it:
Open BitDefender, click Settings, set UI to Expert Mode. Click OK.
Select Antivirus, Advanced Settings then under Exclusions click [+] symbol, a browser opens, go to the following; C:\Program Files\Rosetta Stone\Rosetta Stone Version 3 and select the RosettaStoneVersion3 file, click OPEN. Then OK. Sorted.
