A work-around for this problem is just manually tune to a frequency right before the station you want (say you want 101.1 - tune to 100 + or -). Then hit the scan button and it will lock onto 101.1 if it's a strong station in your area. Once you listening to that station, press one of your pre-set buttons for 3 seconds and, viola, you have that station set in memory.

Not many radios have the capability of switching tuner frequency sets. There area at least six different regional frequencies setting used around the world. In the US FM changes on the .1,.3,.5 odd numbers; others change on the .0,.2,.4...evens. The US changes AM on the 10's 890,900,910...others by the 9's. Delphi has a radio that can be set for USA, Europe/Australia, Japan, Argentina, China or SAUDI ARABIA*[*once set here can't be changed]. It also has a USB port and AUX jack on the front. It can be had with Sirius or XM and a weather band [which may only be applicable in the US]. This does not have short wave but may have RTS(?) radio traffic info) capability if in Europe. Check this link to Pana-Pacific who are retailers/resellers. There is a trick to getting it set for the right country and you may have to request the information from them directly, but it can be done.

I have a hd522u kenwood radio from America and I put it in my car in Israel I can't get the Europien frequency who knows how to Chang it thanks

Buy a new radio. It is not authorized to work in another country. Their frequencies may be totally different from the USA. This is true in Canada and Mexico. Send it back to the USA and stop using it at once! It may be interfering with some important frequencies.

My radio on SAAB 9-5 does not pick FM signals

You're a bit vague about the problem mate. Does the radio pick up AM or LW? Not sure what country you're in. Does the radio actually go? Check the aerial connections. Is this car imported from another country with different frequencies? You may need a band expander if this is the case.

Cobra 19 DX IV, I bought this unit in america, but i live in the U.K. and can't pick up any channels, does this unit Only work in america, can i get somthing for it to work in england??? Thanks...

  • The UK uses more FM frequencies than AM frequencies. So the CB will work over there just fine but you will need to find someone who uses them frequencies as well or it may no be much fun. Here is a frequency chart for what we in America call import radios shipped from over there. http://macuk.org.uk/cbchart.htm 27.555 FM is the main frequency used in the UK but the Cobra 19 is a strictly AM CB. Also on the link on the far right are the standard 40 channel frequencies from the UK version of CB's and not one is the same as the Cobra 19 as the UK uses FM for their 40 channel CB radios.
  • Here is the 40 channel CB frequency chart utilized in America http://www.csgnetwork.com/cbradiofreq.html
  • Hope this clarifies things for you.

How to change tuner to pick up all frequence's eg: goes from 95.5 to 95.7 how do i get it to change to 95.6 thanks jason

It will only tune into odd numbered stations because US radio station only broadcast in odd number stations (ex 95.5,95.7,96.3). You can change the area. Area 1 is North America, Area 2 is other areas. Press "Menu"->"Setup"->"Tuner"->"Tuner Area", then select 1 or 2. After setting, press and hold "Menu" for at least 2 seconds. This may give you the frequency you are looking for.

Need to use my car radio frequency for my dvd (make is unknown) player but can't figure out which station!

You want to pick a frequency where there isn't an existing station, so the radio will have a clear signal from the dvd player.

If the DVD player only has a few frequencies to choose from, then tune the radio to each one (with the DVD player turned OFF) and see which one has the most static and the least signal from radio stations in your area.

If the DVD player can be set to any frequency, then just pick a frequency (usually down on the "88" side of the FM band) with the least local signal, then set your DVD player to use that frequency.

Does this make sense? Feel free to ask questions with the "add comment" link.
If this solves it for you, please be sure to hit the "thumbs up" for me!

I HAVE A CAR CD RADIO IN A JAPANESE IMPORT CAR THE RADIO IS SET TO JAPANESE FREQUENCIES IS THERE ANY WAY I COULD RESET TO BRITISH FREQUENCIES

Depending on the radio and the make of car , there is often a MENU setting that will allow country  change settings(which includes  the frequency changes ) for USA Europe and the Far East

If you have a MENU button (often labelled M ) , press it and scroll through the menu options(usually using the up (^ )or down( v ) buttons)

Unfortunately this facility is not available on many  car radios  so if yours does not have it  , then perhaps the cheapest option is a replacement radio (off Ebay)

Change Radio Frequency

Most radios made in American have fixed tuners and do not have a way to change frequency of the radio. If they use the same FM frequencies (88.1-108.0) then all you have to do is do a scan or seek of what is available when you get there or a new radio will be needed. There may be a way to add a EU tuner and have the original radio receive the output of it through a channel in the radio. It's the cheapest way to not have to buy a new NAV/RADIO device. It would work kind of like the hands free devices that are not hardwired do here.
