My husband found in ours that the little float was stuck over the sensor (the little patch) down in the reservoir. The float could not rise with the water, thus, the machine did not know that there was enough water available and it would not stop blinking. He took the dry reservoir out, turned it upside down and shook it! This worked for him, as it unstuck the float. He said that if that doesn't work, the thing is really stuck and you might as well return it.
Hello everyone
Check the little float in the water reservoir. It might be sticking. This is a safety devise so the unit doesn't continue to run with no water. Use a long, narrow flat head screwdriver and place it between the float and the front wall of the water reservoir. Then immerse the corner of the reservoir in boiling water for about a minute. After a minute run the reservoir under cold water. Make sure the screwdriver is in place the whole time. Once the reservoir is cooled down, remove the screwdriver. This will reform the wall of the reservoir adjacent to the float and hopefully allow the float to move freely. If this doesn't work, you may need to buy a new reservoir.
This worked well. I didn't have a long flat screwdriver, but a letter opened worked fine. It appears I caused the problem when I cleaned the tank with boiling water. Apparently the plastic shrank and locked the magnet float. Thank you very much.
Hi, This was my problem too. The float was stuck, I released it and it worked. Excellent solution to a frustrating problem.
While doing this with the boiling water I noticed continuous bubbles coming from the black float. This obviously meant the float was filling with water, and indeed after the procedure it could move freely but would not float.
I decided to remove the metal retaining clip and take out the float to study it. What do you know? The plastic was irreparably cracked at the top, due to oxidizing metal inside (a magnet?). I gave the now useless container an honorable burial in the plastics bin.
No coffee tomorrow morning :-(
Same thing here, the plastic around the magnet was cracked. Emptied it and glue-sealed it, which lasted for a few times only - still got waterlogged again. Since I can't get a replacement magnet it's down to replacing the tank, which is getting difficult these days.

Mine does it when there's not enough water in the reservoir. There's a floater and the spout at the bottom. Make sure both are working.
I don't think the Best Solution #1 writer read the problems. We have all done that several times but it will not register that the FLUSH was done hence machine will not start making coffee. The mandatory flush cycle was a BAD idea. This thing will probably go back, poor quality-
Fill your reservoir with cold water, put a bowl under the spout, turn it on, and press the one and two cup buttons at the same time. This will flush the machine, and your blinking will stop and you should be able to make coffee.

I have the same problem. I've rinsed using the suggested method approximately 8 times now and that has not solved the problem.
I just received my new machine today, followed all the "first time use" instructions and it still keeps blinking. I have gone through the flushing sequence about 5-6 times now and still, not fixed.
Same problem. Flushed it - and still happens.
New machine same issues. Have run the flush process several times to no avail. Will try checking the float etc. Have emailed their customer service as well but no word back as of yet. May just need to exchange the machine as it seems to be a quality control problem (and at the cost of the machines shouldn't exist!)
