1994 700..Starts immediately w/starting fluid.. Runs for seconds & throttles ok and then dies. Will restart again same way and then dies again. Just acquired, everything looks great & clean, all factory. Hasn't run in 2 years. I put fresh fuel & 2 cycle oil. New BR8HS NGK Plugs. Battery Good. I also own a 1996 Yamaha 1100, 3 Cylinder, almost identical. I did however replace both rear main seals for a similar problem. Could this be the same problem??? How do I verify this???

Well you didn't specify what kind of motor it is just that it's a 1994. If it runs when you use starting fluid but dies then the problem has to be fuel. I'm assuming you've changed the fuel filter. I'm not sure what kind of an engine you're talking about here but if it hasn't been run for two years and it has a carburetor the float could be stuck. If it is stuck in the up position this would block fuel from entering the carburetor. Check it, the fuel filter and the line coming from the tank and trace the fuel supply all the way to the engine from the tank.

Asking about a 2019 Sym 50cc scooter. The motor will start but only runs for about a minute. .

Sounds like you are starved for fuel. Look for a pinched off fuel line or a plugged up fuel filter. That would be my first place to start. Possibly even a bad petcock on the tank.

Would a faulty electric fuel pump relay be the reason there is no power going down to the fuel pump in a 2002 suzuki grand vitara 2.0 rhz diesel engine

To test fuel flow, have a 2nd person stand over air filter (air filter housing open) with a can of starting fluid in one hand. Don't give any throttle, then 2nd person gives 1-second squirt into air filter while you're turning starter motor (no throttle). When engine catches, immediately give one third to one half throttle. Just before it dies, 2nd person should give another short squirt of starting fluid to keep engine from dying. If throttle won't keep engine running and only starting fluid keeps it running, then yes, no fuel is going through fuel lines. Either its a fuel pump issue or maybe there's restriction because of clogged dirty fuel filter. If it starts but runs rough and has black exhaust smoke, then its clogged or dirty fuel injectors.

Quits after warm up wont restart

sounds like you have a fuel pump problem, fuel pumps will usually get hot and then shut off allowing it to sit 30 mins lets the pump cool down allowing it to start pumping, the way you can test it is get a can of starting fluid the next time it quits raise your hood and spray some fluid down into the throttle body and if it starts and then dies it is most likely your fuel pump, hope this helps.

Car will not fire up..starter ok, battery ok. I have not driven it in 2 months

Try some staring fluid or a few tablespoons of fuel in the intake manifold at the throttle body.
If the car starts and runs for a few seconds, the fuel delivery has a problem ( like a fuel pump or clogged fuel injector).

If it doesn't start up immediately, then it's a possible spark delivery problem.

That should narrow things down a bit.

Ok a quick check. When the engine cuts out and you go for restart it dies within 5 seconds. Next time put the ignition at position 2 (on but not starting) and wait one minute, then start the car. If the engine again runs for 30 seconds before cutting off this tells you its is a fuel problem. If the fuel is supplied slowly it fills the carburettor fuel bowls and when the car starts it quickly uses up these local reservoirs of fuel faster than they can be replenished. When you try to restart immediately there is only a tiny amount of fuel and so it used up almost immediately. By leaving the ignition on 2 for while it gives the pump time to fill the carburettor bowls and this takes a while longer to run down when the engine starts. Just before moving on does the car have a choke OK remove the low tension connection to the coil, basically remove any chance of a spark. Put a big old towel around the carb. Now remove the fuel line at the carburettor and put ignition on 2 to engage the starter pump. Listen to pump operation and look at the rate of fuel being pushed from the disconnected fuel pipe. If the flow is slow check on pump and filters.
