The Compaq Tablet PC TC1000? (Marketing Part Number D 70045-236)

Turn the laptop over, you're looking at the bottom. Battery Compartment is to the Right.

To the left of the battery compartment is the Memory Compartment. (The parting line for the memory compartment door, starts to the left of the battery release button)

The Memory Compartment is rectangular in shape. The right lower corner has a half U shaped cutout. (Next to the battery release button)

At the top of this panel, or door, are two Philips head screws. These are removed. The panel is then lifted up at the side the screws are on, SLIGHTLY, then slid forward. (Forward. Away from you)

(There are two plastic tabs at the end towards you. They slide into the body of the laptop, and if the panel is lifted Straight up, these small plastic tabs could break off)

This is HP Support, and the download page for Manuals, for the Compaq TC1000
(HP and Compaq are one, and the same entity now)

http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/DocumentIndex.jsp?contentType=SupportManual&lang=en&cc=us&docIndexId=64179&taskId=101&prodTypeId=321957&prodSeriesId=307008

I would like you to download the Hardware Guide for this tablet PC. It explains about the hardware, and also shows how to install ram memory.
(Copy and paste the above link to your address bar, press the Enter key)

Under the - General Reference - section heading.

Click on - Compaq Table PC TC1000
Series Hardware Guide

(Second one down)

This is a PDF file. Your computer has Adobe Reader on it, which uses PDF files.

I advise letting it download all the way before looking through it, or you may break the download connection.

Page 128 starts with telling you how much is the Maximum Amount of ram memory.
(512MB)

Tells you that there is only 1 Ram slot.

The next page tells, and shows you how to open the Memory Compartment door, then details how to remove, and install ram memory.

My tablet just stoped working, I took the back off and tried to see is the wires are loose for connectivity and their all firm, no water damage, drops or anything, please help

return it to the supplier, goods have to be of merchantable quality. If they said it was new and the button was missing they are untruthful. Contact them and let them know about the situation, tell them they should have replaced the item immediately when you informed them of the missing button. Tell them the device is no longer functioning and you hold them responsible, you want an exchange or a refund. If the chain of events is as you describe them I can only say that they are taking extreme liberties with you!!

GOOD LUCK

At boot up it stops and gives me an "Extended Ram Module Fail" It recognizes the CD/DVD Player and a new harddrive with nothing on it.

see
http://www.computerhope.com/issues/ch000394.htm
This is most likely a RAM issue but it may be that your RAM slots on your motherboard have become defective. If the latter, you will need to replace the motherboard, which may mean buying a new computer if a motherboard cannot be found at a reasonable price (try ebay as well Panasonic and other computer dealers)
However you should start by finding out what RAM is in your computer which means opening it if it won't start.
see the reference manual which can be downloaded at http://www.panasonic.com/business/toughbook/computer-support-download-manuals.asp Go to p119 - there you will find a slightly more informative description of what the problem is likely to be (RAM module). I don't know where the RAM modules are situated in your particular model of CF29, you will need to find out. Remove all of them. (see ref manual on how to do this - it looks like the standard method for laptops). Replace one of them in the approved fashion: ensure that it fits well: usually it is easy to tell when this has happened - see other guides for upgrading laptop RAM modules or videos (you tube has many) for this stage if you do not understand the Panasonic ref manual - I found the IBM T40series guide at www.lenovo,com very easy to understand. Now try starting the computer. If it gives the same error, remove and the RAM module and try again. If this doesn't work try the other RAM slot if your computer has one with the same memory module. If that doesn't work repeat the process with the other RAM module [if the computer had one]. In this fashion you should be able to determine whether and which RAM module is defective or if it is one of the slots on the motherboard. If there is only one module and slot, you will need to try reinserting the RAM and if that doesn't work using another known good stick of RAM of the correct type (not all RAM sticks of seemingly the correct spec, will work though: best use a reputable brand). This will tell you whether it's likely to be the original RAM or the motherboard, or just that the RAM had become improperly seated.

While carrying these operations the computer should be powered down and have the battery removed. Observe anti static precautions and do not force anything.

Good luck

Sd card

The SD card is not counted as RAM Memory.
RAM memory is included inside the tablet and is not upgradable.

The ram in your tablet is RAM DDR3 512MB.

How can I ad an additional stick of RAM (2 GB) on my TC4400 tablet? Where the additional slot is? I didn't find it. Thank you, Benjamin

There should be a cover behind the laptop, unscrew these tiny screws and the back cover should open. Then you want to located where the rams are at. In some case the ram slot is already being used by the original rams and you need to take these out to install the new ram. Before hand, make sure your laptop support the correct type of the ram, in your case it will support ddr2 sdram up to 4gb. So pretty much once you locate the ram slot after opening the back panel... then just install it.

Ram location and type

The best way to find the ram location is to look at your user guide. It should also explain how to upgrade ram. If you don't have a user guide then you should be able to download one from the Panasonic website, follow links for support and downloads.

For ram, there are a couple of excellent sites, just google "Crucial" or "Orca" you can iether use their scan software or enter you own details and they'll reccommend the type of ram you need. You don't have to buy it from them, you may be able to get it cheaper else where.

This laptop can support up to 1 GB of PC13 type of RAM, this unit usually came with only 256 MB of RAM so you have an option to put the maximum amount of RAM for it which is 1 GB.

I am using HP Laptop compeq presario c301tu when on the notebook the power led always blinking but here no disply

Dear client! You should check your RAM change slot use other slot for RAM if you have. It is very possible your problem will be solved. If problem remaining same you should your VGA it might be possible that it could be out of order and it will being not worked. If your laptop does not give any beep it could be possible your motherboard problem presist. But I assure that RAM will be out of order or RAM's slot fault so first of all you check your RAM or RAM's slot.
Thank You
