Power shot A80 ,Picture come out very dark - Cameras

Are you looking at the photos on the camera screen or a computer screen? Camera screens can sometimes be the culprit, depending on lighting. Also, make sure you are not shooting into the sun, that can do weird things to an image sensor.

Go to Settings and find "Preview" switch to "ON"

It seems that this is a problem with some of the canon pwershot series.

Sounds like the picture tube is going bad or there is a screen voltage capacitor bad in the sweep power supply.

There are some third-party software programs that will extract the date/time info from your EXIF data stored in the images and apply them to the image for printing. There are a couple threads here and on dpreview.com about them. You can also use the ZoomBrowser software that came with your A80 to do some limited date/time printing for specific images. It's not the standard format (uses a box w/ drop shadow) but it is another option.
