I have a Mitsubishi VS 70707 - when I turn it on the screen is very dark and jumpy. It lightens up after about 15 minutes, but today the horizontal lines and jumping has continued for the last two hours. Is it fixable? I love this tv. Sue

Very simple , you need to initialize you tv by pressing menu and input bottoms at the same time for 30 seconds until the picture coming up and select * intitialize* on the screen menu, and wait until is done and you done.
Oh good, two people. I was getting weary of attempting to slightly change my answer for all the other people who didn't use the "has the same problem" feature. Anyway, the problem both of you have is not too far gone yet, but will get worse if you let it. It's the main capacitors. Maybe not all 21, but probably at least half of the 21 main caps are shot. All should be replaced at any rate. Any shop worth it's salt ought to be able to do this for you for under $400 if you can't do this yourself.
