Machine will fill for several seconds only. Have shut in down and started up several times but problem persists. Water level will not reach any of the probes. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Have a hobart LX18 it will not fill can you help

hello,

A Dishwasher is a high quality product that focuses on energy efficiency. In addition to saving money on electrical use over other machines, they use less water than the average dishwasher. When your Dishwasher is not filling with water properly, before you call for a service appointment, check the components yourself.

    instruction
  1. Check to see if the water source to your dishwasher is turned on and not blocked or clogged. Also make sure the water line between the dishwasher and water source is connected and free from blockage. The door has to be closed properly as well.
If your water pressure is low, you can adjust the water intake value on the dishwasher to allow more water to flow through.
There is an overflow detection device on the dishwasher, so if the machine detected that, it will shut down the intake pump and open the drain pump. If this is the case, you will need to call for service because if there is water in the machine it will have to be cleaned out. Remember to turn off the water source to prevent further damage.

thanks.

E4 error after attempting to fill and get to temp

This is what I found for the E4 code...hope this helps...and thanks for rating my effort...The Fang.

Machine won't fill or won't fill high enough(LX18, LX30 display shows "E0," "E2," "E3," or "E4")

1.Low water pressure — check for clogged hose strainer; check that site water pressure meets minimum flow pressures.
2.Make sure probes are clean.
3.No water pressure — main water supply valves may not be working.
4.Drain valve open - turn machine off to drain machine, then on. Repeat twice (this assists in clearing any drain valve obstructions). Wait for machine to reach READY mode and press WASH. Slowly open door several seconds later and note water level. Close door; 30 seconds later, open door slowly and check that water level is the same as it was. If not, repeat the
OFF-ON procedure.
5. Delime machine.

Hobart LX15H indicates E4 and will not fill.

This is what I found in the manual...and on a couple of other sites....

Hobart LX 18 problem

You are having a problem with the fill valve. If the unit fills AT ALL, with the power off, the fill valve is the issue.

It is a gold color valve behind the front kick panel. It has a large castle-like cap. Sometimes debris is the cause of your failure. (50/50). Turn off the water, and just take it apart slowly and pay attention to the plunger and spring. Take out the diaphram and screen, and clean it. There should be just one small hole in the diaphram. If cleaning doesn't help, you need to buy a rebuild kit. If you get the "ML" off the data plate, I can get you the kit P/N.

good luck

Hobart lx18

$0. Clean the probes. Two in back right corner. Two under the front screen. Use a green scrubby.

If the problem persists, check where the water comes into the machine. There is a screen on the hose that clogs up and starves the machine for water.
