Put the clothes in the dryer after that then you should be okay... Or because it's so new and Sears Kenmore has warranties on them have one there guys come check it out

Check the belt to see if its broken
or off the Drum or Idler Pulley.
If the belt is in place
(there is usually a mark on the drum where it should go)
then I would call the place where I bought it,since it's new, & tell them to fix it or you will call:
The Better Business Breau & Sears Headquarters.
I'd give them at least a week to make it right....log everything that you do.

Thanks for all the input!  We reached a compromise in hiring an electrician who was willing to come out today and install the connection for half what everyone else quoted...on a Sunday!  The laundry piling up in the corner was very persuasive in convincing us that your advice (in the end, we'd need a professional no matter which way we went) was prudent.  Thanks. jersey p
