I do believe those audio outputs are fixed pre amp outputs that connect , for example, to a home theater system.

The set should have but maybe you cannot find it as the set has no audio output jacks built into it.
check the owners manual.

Hi, I have your solution. there are only 2 audio outputs it seems-one is a fiber optic digital output that uses a Toslink connector, the other is a small 1/8 in.- 3.5mm stereo headphone jack ( it's location I'm unclear on-it may be located on the side or even on the bottom edge. Other than those the only other audio out is through the t.v.'s speakers. Thanks for choosing fixYa, good luck-Prodzilla

There is no speaker outputs on this TV model, it has line level audio ouput jacks and Digital audio for connecting it to Audio system.

There are many options here. Most HDTVs today have analog audio and digital audio output jacks. You can use RCA audio cables or a 3.5mm connector, whichever your HDTV has to connect the analog stereo output of the TV to any number of devices such as a stereo/amp which has speakers attached. You could also connect an FM transmitter to the TV and send the audio wirelessly to a nearby FM radio, boombox, portable etc. Most HDTVs today have a digital audio output, typically optical, which uses a digital audio cable ($15) to connect to a surround sound receiver. You can also connect the stereo analog output jack on the TV to a 2.4GHz transmitter and receiver speaker combo to get wireless audio outside, in a swimming pool and so forth, all around the house using wireless speakers. These setups usually cost around $150 or so. Look for the jack on the TV labeled AUDIO OUT and see if it is the white and red 2 jack ports or the smaller 3.5mm single jack port. Adapter cables are available at Radio Shack for around $10 should you need them. So you see the options are almost endless.

You can connect the external stereo amp to the audio line out RCA jacks, then you need to go to the setup manual to set the audio output to be variable or you can leave it at fixed output.

I have a Panasonic viera 32in lcd hd tv. I'm trying to hook up headphones but there's is no apparent audio output jacks. But there's is only one digtal output jack! is this the jack ? and if it is, what cables do I need to make the headphones work? or am I forced into by an amplifier

Hi reb21, From the Audio menu check and make sure your audio output is not set to Mono, anyother setting should produce a an output signal on both wires. Let me know if this helps and please rate this solution. lone99star
