What it shows on screen after system initializing? It goes black or?
do you have a manual for it? I think it has a "like computer" options that allows you to click on the start prompting you to an internal menu. Can you try to find this?

In this situation you need to do one solution to know the exact issue with you system, there are chance that your screen resolution has gone bad or your OS has gone corrupted. You must press f8 when your computer start's and then you must chose start with safe more or start with VGA mode. If you can see you desktop this time you need to adjust your computer's screen resolution as it's seem the problem with your screen resolution.
I had the same problem... its actually really easy to solve. You probably downloaded the wrong kernal for your r4. all you really have to do is to download the one that matches your r4.
my friend had a laptop that did something similar so i got him an lcd ribbon cable replacement off ebay and that fixed it. i dont know if thats whats wrong with yours, but its a possibility. here is a link to a cable on ebay
I start my computer and turn it on, and everything looks fine for about 1/4 of a second and then it goes black while leaving the power light green. I can only see the screen again after turning it off and on, but that's only for another 1/4 second. What's up? I got my rosewill flatscreen as a hand me down from my father. I've had it for several years now. Was working fine until a month ago. When I turn the computer on the screen goes black after 1/4 of a saecond. I have to turn it off and on anywhere from 10 to 20 times before it stays on. I have checked all plugs to the computer and outlets. I have absolutely no idea whats causing this.
