K80 "scanner Failure"

"Scanner Failure" notice. No functions work. I've tried all button combinations, powered on-off, etc. Is it driver related? Is it dead?

HP k80Xi Scanner failure

for all-in-one printers very often we must install drivers for the scanner section and some times the universal drivers under your model works fine you sure try that.

I have installed HP PHoto and Imaging Softward for ScanJet 3570c 48 bit. Everytime I try to click on icons on the scanner, my computer shows an error message that there is a problem with connecting to the...

Does the same error occur if you launch a scan from the computer? What OS do you have? Vista only has a basic driver available and does not support the scanner buttons. (You can launch the scans from a number of options: third-party software, Windows Fax and Scan (new scan), Microsoft Paint (File > Import from Scanner or Camera > New Scan) and Windows Photo Gallery.)

If the error occurs when you launch the scan from the computer, try a new data cable and different USB ports. Try a direct USB connection if you use a hub. Then check your USB ports and the drivers for the USB. (For Windows, look in the Device Manager. Start > Control Panel > System > Device Manager (exact directions will depend on the OS).

The HP Photo and Imaging software requires you to set the default scan destinations in the software before you can use the buttons on the scanner (for those OS/driver versions that support the feature). Always open the software and scan from the computer to see what the defaults will be. Each version of HP's imaging software set up these buttons differently; the help option is useful. Try Scan > Scan settings to find where to set the color and black & white destinations.

I hope this helps. If you add a comment with your OS and whether the computer can launch a scan, I'll provide additional help if I can.

Background changeover unit failure on 6130dj scanner. Tried cleaning it, rebooting pc & downloading driver . . . what else can I do?

Hi,

When a background switching malfunction occurs, "F" and "4" will display alternately on the function number display panel of the scanner.

Wipe the top and bottom glasses located inside the ADF with the Cleaner F1 and check if the problem persists.

If turning on the scanner again does not recover the situation, then follow the procedures provided below:
1 Does the same symptom occur after turning OFF and ON the scanner? Press power button of the scanner for more than 2 seconds to turn it OFF, and after more than 2 seconds elapse, press the power button to turn the scanner ON.
2 Are the cables between the Control PCA and the BW Motor damaged? Or are the connectors connected correctly?

3 Is the white reference work properly? If not, then replace the BW Motor.Perform background changeover test.
4 Is the OPT Unit installed correctly? Check ADF (Front) and ADF (Back)
5 Replace the Control PCA and see if the error is resolved.
6 Replace the OPT Unit and see if the error is resolved.
Hope the above information is helpful.
Thanks,
ScanCare

Cant scan from hp 3110 photosmart printer

You are having hardware communication problems caused, very likely, by driver installation troubles. Go into CONTROL PANEL and then SYSTEM and then DEVICES and look for the scanner there under IMAGING DEVICES and check to see if it has an exclamation mark next to it, or if any other device has this mark, meaning that drivers are not installed for it. If there is no scanner but you have a warning icon labeled UNKNOWN DEVICE, this is the problem. If you find any non-functioning hardware devices, this is probably it.

Try this as a fix. Unplug the cable to the printer/scanner.

Go online to HP and download the latest drivers and utilities for the scanner/printer and save them to your desktop.

In CONTROL PANEL, open ADD REMOVE PROGRAMS. Scan down and remove (uninstall) anything related to the HP printer or scanner, everything. Then reboot. Then install the drivers and utilities on your desktop you saved previously, plugging in the unit when prompted to do so. If you are never prompted, plug it in at the very end when everything is installed. If this routine fails, try rebooting the system without the HP scanner plugged in, wait for a complete start-up, and then plug the scanner into a different USB port and follow the directions on screen taking note of any failure messages. PS: the scanner/printer needs to be powered on through all of this, of course. :>)

Good luck
