My sceptre won't show my pc screen, it keeps going to black screen...when I push source button my pc flashes on screen but then goes black...

Changing the main won't help, it's not what's wrong, you have bad LED backlights and in all honesty it's going to make more sense to buy a new TV but this time buy a name brand

Look for the power button/switch on the monitor

see solution, did you drop it or did it get wet?

i have a sceptre Lcd tv model x40 the red light is on but when you push the power button it will not come on

this old monitor has 2 issues.
1: it has CCFL tubes that love to burn out (backlamps)
most this old are long go, yell,dim.,blinking or DEAD.
2: push the menu button on front of mon. turn off power saver.

3: if the PC goes to sleep, or hibernete mode (parked)
then that is 100% normal
if you dont like feature then go to windows control panel
click power, ICON and turn off all monitor sleep /hibernate modes.

that assumes windows, no OS stated.


if the lamps are dead,
use flash light pointed to sceen, see data. ? bingo for bad CCFT tubes.

Have you tried attaching an external monitor when the LCD screen is disconnected from the motherboard? this connector is located under the keyboard strip – a piece of plastic just above the keyboard.
If it works, this way, then the video cable isn’t seated properly in the connector on the back of the screen. Plugging the video cable back in should fix the problem.
I don’t know how comfortable you are with taking apart laptops but I think that this information could be useful for you.

It sound like either a power or power connectivity issue. I recommend that you first complete a hard reset on the tv (unplug all power to the unit and accessories for at least two hours, sometimes more. Then plug the unit and accessories back in. first try that safe mode option and do log in . when you successfully log in restart your computer . this happen mainly when there is sudden loss of power supply to the cpu. shut down your computer properly by pushing the power button on the cpu

I just got a 42" komodo by Sceptre, same problem, except "SCEPTRE" showed on the screen. I was sent a USB key program to insert in the service slot in the back and it reflashes the bios. This is old news for you but maybe new for someone?
