The xbox live gold membership is paid for when you buy it. It never runs out until you have used all of the time you bought. Like say you bought a 12 month subscription it will last you the whole year until the day you bought the last one and activated it. Only time you use money is when you want to buy something from xbox live. All you need is the internet wifi or direct cable works. You can actually use your xbox live account on any xbox. Say if his friend has an xbox and has xbox live he can then use his account on his friends xbox to play online with his friend. You dont have to worry though every time he goes to an xbox he has to recover his xbox live account info so no one else can use it while he is using it. There is also a few new updates to keep his account safe as well when he does want to do something like that. also you can go into family settings and make it so he cant buy anything with out a pass code even put a timer on it with a pass code to limit time of play. So inclosing no you dont have to buy GB it just uses your internet connection and it does cover the cost of play for as long as you bought the subscription. Hope this helps :)
Your best bet is to go to a local video game store, where they will be able to remove the settings through a data transfer. If that doesn't work , you may have to get a new hard drive. You can always recover an xbox live account from another xbox, so don't worry about losing your account (unless the account was never connected to Xbox Live in the first place, then there's a good chance you lost your account).
Please everyone that comes across my info take a few seconds of your time to rate my solution which you can select at the bottom of my answer Was this solution helpful? YES or NO :)... As i have taken time to answer your question the best i can Thank You......
If children use your Xbox console, you can set a pass code to
control access to features and options. Because Family Settings exist
for both the console and for Xbox LIVE accounts, you can set pass codes
for both. Here you can learn how to:
Set an Xbox LIVE Pass Code When
you set an Xbox LIVE pass code for your profile, anyone who wants to
use that profile will need to enter the pass code before signing in to
Xbox LIVE. To set an Xbox LIVE pass code:
Go to My Xbox and open your profile.
Select Manage Account, Xbox LIVE Pass Code.
Enter a four-button code using the X andY buttons, triggers, bumpers, and directional pad on your controller.
Confirm your code by entering it again.
To reset your pass code, repeat this procedure at any time. (You
will have to enter your original Xbox LIVE pass code before you can
create a new one.)
Set a Family Settings Pass Code When
you create a Family Settings pass code, anyone who wants to change
family settings on your console will need to enter the pass code first. You can also use your Family Settings pass code to override game
and movie settings if you (or those with whom you share your pass code)
want to play games or watch DVD movies that your console settings
normally block. For example, you could give the pass code to your 18-year-old so
that she can watch R-rated movies that your younger child is not allowed
to see. To set a pass code for your console:
Go to My Xbox and open System Settings.
Select Family Settings, Console Controls.
Select Set Pass Code.
Select Pass Code, then enter a four-button code using the X and Y buttons, triggers, bumpers, and directional pad on your controller.
Confirm your code by entering it again.
Choose a pass code reset question.
Select Pass Code Reset Answer and enter
your answer using either your Xbox 360 controller or a standard USB
computer keyboard plugged into a controller port on your console.
Select Done from the Set Pass Code screen, then select Done once more from the Console Controls screen. When prompted, select Yes, save changes to put your new settings into effect.
To reset your pass code, repeat this procedure at any time. Reset a Forgotten Pass Code To reset your pass code after you've forgotten it:
Go to My Xbox and open System Settings.
Select Family Settings, Console Controls.
Enter an incorrect pass code.
You'll be told that your pass code is incorrect. SelectReset pass code.
You'll then be shown your pass code question and asked to answer it.
Set a new pass code, following the directions in the previous section.
If you've forgotten the answer to your pass-code reset question as
well as your pass code, call Xbox Customer Support at 1-800-4-MY-XBOX
(1-800-469-9269).
Your son's xbox live account might have no permission to access online xbox gaming, to be able to check and correct this problem try following this steps:
Go to My Xbox and open System Settings.
Select Family Settings, Xbox LIVE Controls.
Sign in using the e-mail address and password you used when you set up your child's Xbox LIVE account.
Managing Xbox LIVE Activity Xbox LIVE Controls come into play only when you take Xbox 360 online, and they're linked to a child's profile and gamertag. When an Xbox LIVE account is created, the service asks for the member’s age to determine whether to apply Family Settings to that account. Parents are also required to create or use an existing Windows Live ID. The Windows Live ID is associated with the child’s Xbox LIVE account and protects the settings from being changed later by the child. To change a child’s settings, first select the child’s account name and connect to Xbox LIVE. Once signed in, enter your Windows Live ID password to unlock the settings. To see these controls, go to My Xbox, open System Settings, then selectFamily Settings, Xbox LIVE Controls.
If you've forgotten the answer to your pass-code reset question as well as your pass code, please call Xbox Customer Support at 1-800-555-741. They will resolve the issue for you
