Resume button is stuck

When i print something the printer will start printing but end up only printing half of the page leaving the other half blank. ex. if i have a full one page essay it will print half the essay then roll out the rest of the paper with the bottom half blank
the computer claims the resume button is stuck however it looks fine to me. the problem is the resume button will sometimes become "unstuck" randomly and will print the entire essay

Why does my printer only print half of a page?

Let's start by trying this:
Unplug the printer power cord from the printer and the wall.
Turn off the PC.
Disconnect the USB cable from both ends.
Plug the printer back in and turn it on.
Now, can you print a self-test page from the printer?
Make sure there is unused, plain white paper loaded in the input tray.
On the product control panel, press and hold the Power button and the Cancel (X) button at the same time.
Release both buttons. The diagnostic page prints.
If that does not work, are there any blinking lights on the printer? This document might explain them: Blinking lights.
If the self-test page does print normally, reconnect the USB cable, turn the PC back on and try to print a Windows test page:
Click the Windows icon and then click Control Panel . The Control Panel opens in a new window.
Click Hardware and Sounds .
Click Printers . The Printers folder opens.
Right-click the printer icon in the Printers folder.
Click Properties . The printer Properties window opens.
In the General tab, click Print Test Page . The Windows Printer Test Page prints.
If you have problems printing from Windows, you can try some of the troubleshooting steps in this document:
Printer Prints Blank Paper.
Finally, you may have to uninstall and reinstall the print driver.

HP Deskjet D2560

First step is to see will if it print a test page.
Go to Start, settings, printers. Right click on the printer, properties, print test page.If that doesn't work there should be a head cleaning option in properties that will make it clean the print heads.
Try the self-test? I'm not sure on the 5550 printer, but do this:With the printer ON,
1. Press and hold the power button
2. While holding the power button, press the resume button 4 times
3. Release the power button

Waste ink reservois is full

Hi
The waste ink are in the inside of your printer you need to get at it to clean out, but after this you got to reset it after you cleaned it or it will still not work, you may not have to get inside to clean it try this first to reset it.
Reset CANON PIXMA IP5000 printer To reset the counter or to find out about it’s reading you have to use the service mode.
Turn off the printer, push the resume button and keep on pushing.
Press the power button and keep on pushing. Now let go off the resume button,
but not the power button. Push the resume button twice, then let go off all buttons.
You are now in service mode.

To leave the service mode, give the power button one push.

Push the resume buttons once, after that the power button once.
The first information page appears.
Push resume twice, then power once: You get the second page.

Newer PIXMA-printers print the first page as a test for the nozzles.
The second page contains a lot of information.

Our advice: Print the second page before and after reset of the waste ink counter.
Only then can you be sure that the reset was a success.

To reset the waste ink counter right now, push resume four times and after that power once.

Important: Before starting with normal printing again, switch off the printer.
That gets you out of service mode.

Then switch on the printer again and print, as you like

Try to print mapquest directions and sends blank sheet out

Internet printing can be tricky because everything is in HTML which is not designed for printing but for clicking. So there are links and features but when you try to print it can be blank or half pages. Is there a button on the site that says printable view or print these directions or something similar? If you click on that it should allow you to print the page as you see it on your screen.

PRINTER CARTRIDGE STALLED

Is there someting stuck in the printer like a pencil or a keychain, something small that would allow paper to pass but also trigger a sensor in the printer as the printer can detect that paper is being passed unevenly.

Question: does it just say that the ink cartridge is stalled or does the cartarige really stall?
