Channel tuning 1994 Magnavox 27'' TV

There may be a way to get to the audio and video without a remote by first pressing the menu button on the front of the set (if there is one), but the easiest fix is to invest in a good universal remote which will allow you to open the full TV menu. From the start up menu the remote will, after matching the code, allow you to go deeper into the start up menu to the audio/video menu and on to the "regular TV mode".

I'm not sure about the model number of your TV, as here it is marked as both "27MS343S and 32MF338B/F7". Anyway I gies this solution as for the first denoted.
Insert antena to the antena socket at the back side of your TV marked as 75Ohms antena input.
[1] Press "Menu" button on the remote control handset to display menu on screen.
[2] Press "Vol+ or Vol--" button repetedly to hilight "TUN" [Tuner].
[3] Press "Ch+ or Ch--" button to hilight 'AUTOPROGRAM"
[4] Press "Vol+" to programming tv channels.
Tv will tune and store channels transmitted channels at that time, through entire bands, and will display the first channel receved after tuning process completed. It may take some minutes. You have to wait it to complete. After displaying the first channel, you can select your favourite channel Using CH+ or CH--" buttons. Ok.

The codes for Magnavox are 0807, 0002, 0502, 0919, 1914, 0224, 0430, 0247, 0402, 0408, 0109, 0715. Enter the code in the Setup and then check if the remote does any feature other than on/off.

You can search through all the codes as well. Turn on the TV. Press and hold the Setup button until the light remains lit. Press the TV button. Press Channel Up repeatedly (up to 300 times) until the channel changes on the TV. (If you miss this, press Channel Down to backtrack). Press the Mute button to set the code. Check if the TV responds to other functions of the remote. Continue the search as above if it doesn't work for all desired functions.

However if your TV was released less than 6 months before the remote was programmed or is newer than the remote, the code you need may not be in the programming.

Ya what you got to do is Grab your tv, and throw it out your window. Garbage tv with built in problems made to be fixed. I had the same tv and i had many problems with it before. Just buy a new one boss.

Be sure you have a signal connected to the RF [antenna jack] Connector! You may also have a corrupted EEprom. This is a common problem for this TV. But try the programming and be sure your menu says you are programming for Cable or Over the Air signals. And if you have a satellite or cablebox you shoud be on channel 3 or AV 1 or 2...in this case you need to do nothing..as the channels you select come from your satillite or cable box.

tune in the AV channel on the VCR to the TV and save the settings, then you should be able to record your programmes

The instructions for your TV set should answer that! From what I remember, I believe your set is not HD compatable. I am guessing from memory with this.

If the LCD only has coax, it will never display a HD picture quality. However, the Comcast HD Box will still display a picture using the coax connection. So, you could watch any HD channel, but the picture quality will not be high definition.
