My psn connection strength is 100% always but it doesnt stay on for more than 10 mins and is logged off. I have surfed the internet and found out there are 2 ways to fix it. So as one said i turned media server off and i tried to get an update via internet but by the time the update finished it signed out so the update cant take place. After i disabled media server nothing changed, please help!

This would depend on how you are connecting. If by a wireless router, check the signal strength, walls (especially thick or damp), objects with moisture like human bodies all drop signal strength because microwaves are absorbed by water. If the signal strength is good, check the routers logs by accessing the router's administration web page which usually has a statistics or log of past faults. If it is not the router or others using the router are not having the same issue. Then I'd require more information about how you are accessing the internet.
There may be software packages trying to access the Internet that are being blocked, which would block your connection.
The variables here are quite numerous.

Disconnect from your internet source, then reconnect. If it doesn't resolve itself, Sony is doing something to the PlayStation Network in your area and it will be down until they finish their changes.

Yes, that's exactly the problem. It sounds like you attempted to download this when the PSN Network first went down or that 13% is actually BS and it's not downloading a thing. The PSN network is completely down and may be until the end of the month due to being hacked. That code is the error code you get (and I get) every time I tunr the ting on and it tried to auto log on.

Try turning off media server on ps3 Go into the PS3?s Settings menu and navigate to Network Settings - Media Server Connection disable it thats my first idea which could be causing the issue..Secondly unplug your modem/router for 15 sec then plug back in...THEN FOLLOW STEPS

2. Select "Internet Connection Settings", and then press the "X" button. When a message stating that the Internet connection will be terminated is displayed, select "Yes", and then press the "X" button.
3. Select "Wired Connection" or "Wireless Connection", and then press the "X" button.
4. Select "Easy" or "Custom" and adjust settings as necessary. Follow the on-screen instructions to adjust the required settings.

Note: You should always choose Easy before going onto to adjusting the Custom settings. In most cases, the Easy settings will work and are set automatically so you won't have to search for information that could have been gathered automatically.

That is very common, I too get that DNS error while attempting to log in. Im pretty sure it is just the playstation servers. For me it usually takes like 20-30 minutes until they get it running again or if your anxious to play just keep trying, sometimes it might only take 5 or 10 min. Hope this was helpfull.
