Remote capture I was surprised to find after I had bought my A570IS that it does not support remote capture, although the wording on the CD supplied implies that it does. Is there any way it can be updated to allow it to run remote capture? Cnon is being very negative about it. Cheers

    Thanks to all who replied.
I had just assumed (silly me!!)that as my old Powershot A40 had remote capture, that a newer version would have all the facilities of the older more basic model.
Is there any way to lobby Canon to provide an update to the software(firmware?)to provide this useful facility?
    Cheers,
    DavemacP

I really doubt they will release a firmware update that will enable it. Don't forget...they want us to buy a newer camera to replace out older ones...

Hi Dave
If your Camera supports remote capture, it should be on your CD. (the cd comes with the camera) if it didt install, you dont have the CD, or something happend, you can download it in this link.
http://www.driverskit.com/freedownload/Camera/Canon/Remote_Capture_2_7_2/18203.html
Then if your camera supports remote capture, it shoud work fine.

Dave i dont think they will make a new firmware for your camera, Anyway you can still use your camera while you wait untill they make that update.

Hi,

The CD is a general CD that comes with different models of Canon cameras, some of which support remote capture. Unfortunately, your model does not and there is no firmware update or anything of the sort that will allow it to. Sorry.

I have a axess 13" tft led tv it's a prison tv basically and a USB drive was plugged into and once unplugged when you plug it back in the tv does not turn on but red monitor light blinks, I'm assuming...

A correctly programmed universal remote should provide the basics, including switching it from standby to on but the original remote or a dedicated remote will be needed to access the menus.

I bought a dedicated remote from a company advertising on Amazon or ebay at a surprisingly reasonable price...

Got a Panasonic CD stereo system SA-AK410 When I turn it off after a few seconds it turns back on. Is this normal?

That's because you haven't set the clock on the system. I jumps to DEMO mode once you turn it off without the clock set. Clock can be set through your remote. Hope this helps. Cheers.

Bought Remote Control but did not receive Manuel.

Most major manufacturers supply manuals online so if you were to log on to the manufacturer's web site, you may be pleasantly surprised as usually, if available, one is able to download, by model number, Customer Instruction Manuals, Dealer Network for spare part supplies as required.

The information is normally free of charge.

I hope this helps.

Bought 37 in toshibal cd/hd tv off the shelf at american. no remote or manual. how do you get full screen and get the words off the screen?

Either buy a universal remote ($10 everywhere-CVS or Walgreens) or using the buttons on the set itself you should be able to access the menu to change the picture size and shut off the closed captioning.

Remote Sensor on TV Doesn't Work and Can't Manually Adjust Menu

I just realized that there is no usb port on this tv. Called tech support at vizio since I'm still under warranty. They're sending a new remote. I know it's not the remote because neither the verizon nor the vizio remote works, although the vizio remote will intermittently work if I'm one foot away from the sensor on the tv and holding the remote on a downward angle. Tech support says they will send a new remote to rule that out before they send a tech over. I'll check the posts to see if you find a solution when I finally get the tech guy out here. If not, I'll let you know what he does.

Good luck.

My remote is inconsistent--both shutting down and starting. It is particularly difficult when switching from TV to DVD/CD. I bought the remote on recommendations from Circuit City and twice had assistance...

Many times when a remote has difficulty turning the devices on and off, or a few buttons aren't working like they used to, the remote is simply wearing out. The most commonly used buttons are the first to go, and the optical eye is another thing that goes. If reprogramming doesn't seem to fix the problem, then it may be time for a new remote.
