I have a 90+ carrier furnace and I installed a by-pass type humidifier. I figured I would use the existing wiring which was powering a drum type humidifier but the 3 amp fuse popped on my furnace board from the load from the water solenoid on my new humidifier. I don't want to increase the amperage of the fuse. Do you have any ideas? The new humidifier came with a 24 volt transformer but then it would require to be tapped into a "furnace demand" circuit somewhere.

I figured out what I needed to do. I saw that there was a male spade terminal on the board labeled as HUM1.
I used my voltmeter and watched the voltage on this terminal while the furnace went through its start up sequence. It read 5V, then when the flue motor came on it went to 6.5V, but when the gas valve opened, it rised to 26.5V.
So, I connected the humidifier water valve (Humidistat)to this terminal and the Common terminal and all is well.
